I thought I would spice things up when it comes to my blog and the style content on it. It’s nice to have your own style trend, and most of what I see is of modern-day. I know at the minute there is a bit of an 80’s comeback. But for me, I have always loved the old hollywood style. So I thought I would show you guys my top 5 film styles. Now not all of them are old hollywood, as I’m young there are modern-day movies that inspire me too. So here are some of my favourite movies with some fabulous style!
- Sex And The City 2:
With this movie I don’t think I need to say much about the style. Everyone knows how amazing it is, but I prefer this movie over the first one as they experiment a lot more with the Arabian look and it’s just such an exotic and stylish film.
- The Devil Wears Prada:
I feel that this film is about ‘key piece’s’. It features the trench coat, fitted blazer, pencil skirt etc. However it does still add some drama to their work outfits by giving it the modern-day twist.
- Breakfast At Tiffany’s:
One of my favourite films, this is when Audrey Hepburn through the little black dress into the lime light. Her style throughout this film is timeless and classic. This style works in any decade!
- Hello Dolly:
One of my favourite films from my childhood. My mum always had it on for me, I know every dance routine and song and the style is to die for! This is ultimate glamour at it’s best. With her curvy figure, Barbara Streisand works every outfit to its best and shows us that flashing our flesh is not the way to go.
- Gone With The Wind:
A classic and one of a kind, Vivien Leigh’s style in this film was nothing but elegant. The way ladies had to dress back in 1939 is so different to the way girls dress in today’s society. Oh how I would love to dress like this for a day!
Hope you enjoyed the post. I really love the old hollywood style of Barbara Streisand, Audrey Hepburn and Vivien Leigh. If only that style was wearable today! Have fun.
