There is no better way to showcase your SS13 collection than at the stunning Merchant Hotel, Belfast, and Ruedi Maguire did just that. The talented designer treated all of his guests to a magnificent spring/summer collection while we all sipped on champagne and tasted thee best sweets and treats around.
The luxurious setting of the Rita Duffy suite was the perfect place for Ruedi to showcase his latest collection. Each table had a stunning centre piece of pastel flowers with beautiful Victorian inspired candle holders. Before the show started, myself and my mummy, mingled with the lovely Nuala, Julie and of course, FABB mama bear, Katrina. Each table was given a selection of sandwiches, savoury treats and of course sweets!
Around seven, the show started and the first piece set the tone for the evening, which was, glamour at its best. This stunning ball gown made all of the guests, and myself, gasp in awe.
From the waist down, there was pretty trickles of flowers around the front and down to the train of the dress. It honestly was a magnificent piece to start the show with.
There was a great mixture of styles on offer, from the show stopping ball gowns to the fun and flirty mini dresses. This adorable white dress stole my heart. I love the combination of materials used, the silk prom inspired skirt works beautifully with the lace top.
The lace theme continued with this elegant white pencil dress. I love a dress that shows off our womanly shapes and the lace material makes it light to wear and perfect for the coming summer months. With white, think of it like a blank canvas to accessorize. There are so many different looks you can achieve with this dress.
As soon as this stunning peplum dress hit the runway, I immediately fell in love. The classic shape, peplum styled waist and the beautiful material makes it a one of a kind piece, and a must have this SS13!
It was clear to see that Ruedi has opted for a soft pastel tone for some of his pieces. Each look was clean, crisp and fresh looking. The style of this dress is a personal favourite of mine. I have a few pieces in my wardrobe that would be similar to the shape of this gorgeous pencil dress.
Yet another show stopping dress that caught my eye. I love the soft lilac tone in this silk gown. With the long sleeves, they help balance out the deep plunging neck line perfectly.
The hair and make up worked beautifully with the tone of the show. The talented Andrew Mulvenna styled the model’s hair, and make up was done by the lovely Claire Mc Evoy. It was very old hollywood and extremely elegant.
