Gordons Chemist, Blogger in Residence, Week One

So I’m sure that you’re all aware that for the past week I’ve been jet setting between Boston and New York. It has been an unbelievable holiday and I’ve loved every second. I’ve taken some time off from blogging, I’ve been incredibly busy on this adventure, although if you follow me on Instagram then you’ll be able to see daily images from my time in the States.

Before I left, I shared some exciting news with all of you. Gordons Chemist have selected me for their ‘Blogger in Residence’ project for the month of August (you can read my introduction post here). I’m extremely excited to be part of such a fun event and I can’t wait to share my purchases with all of you. I’ll be blogging each week throughout the month showing which products I bought with my voucher.

Perfume has always been one of my favourite beauty products to experiment with. I love sampling each brand and I spent some time at Gordons fragrance counter smelling my afternoon away. I have a fab variety of perfumes already such as: DKNY – Be Delicious Apple, D&G – The One, Inis (a magnificent Irish brand), YSL, Victoria Beckham, SJP – Lovely, Issey Miyake and Chloè. I wear the more rich fragrances for dinner and drinks, and during the day I live in Inis and DKNY, I love a fresh scent for a more relaxed daytime smell.

I decided as I was heading to New York, Vera Wang would be the next fabulous brand to add to my collection. I took it everywhere with my when I was in the city. It became so hot and sticky that I was spritzing this little beauty every couple of hours. I wanted to capture New York City when I was deciding on how to photograph the bottle. The breathtaking views throughout my bicycle ride around Central Park would be perfect for snapping some shots.

Ok, I’ve rambled a little about NYC, back to this delicious perfume! I wanted something light and fruity, the perfect summer scent. The Vera Wang ‘Princess Power’ is a limited edition fragrance for summer. The gorgeous bottle is enough to make me want to invest in it. Her ‘Princess’ perfume range have always been quite eye catching. As soon as I sampled this sweet smelling perfume, I immediately fell in love! It’s scent is quite juicy and fruity with hints of pear and raspberry throughout. Its floral heart captures delicate jasmine, exotic frangipani and rainbow rose. The base of blonde woods is wrapped in vanilla and creamy musk making the perfume extremely irresistible! ♥

I think it’s safe to say that the Vera Wang perfume collection will become a strong staple within my fragrances.

Hope you’re all having a fabulous week!
