For a long time, I have been meaning to check out Soap & Glory and their make up collection. I already have their skincare products and I am excited to start using their products. I have been hearing so much from various beauty bloggers Vivianna Does Make Up and vlogger, Jamie Genevieve. I’ve been watching Anna’s YouTube videos for a while now and she always raves about their Solar Powder Multi Shade Bronzer. On Saturday, I was watching Jamie’s latest video and she shared the Kick Ass Concealer. I really liked the sound of it so I ventured into Boots and delved into a mini shopping spree. To balance things out I treated myself to the L’Oréal La Palette Nude.
I haven’t quite mastered the contouring game, however I’m hoping that the multi shade and highlighter combination will help me with the process. I don’t know if it’s my technique or skin but I just find it tough to blend. I spend a solid twenty minutes working that contour out and it still seems quite harsh. I absolutely love make up but sometimes I’m afraid to fully tackle it with the fear of looking like a clown.
Highlighters are my friend. I just adore them as they instantly lift my skin and give it an illuminating glow. The packaging and design of the Soap & Glory products are absolutely devine. The highlighter has been incorporated into the Solar Powder through their initials. It’s almost too cute to use! Last week I purchased the Real Techniques contouring bold metal brush. You can see it here.
I try endlessly to find that perfect concealer that will cover my dark circles. I am pretty self conscious about them, they drive me insane and no matter what I buy or how much I put in they always come through. I drink water like it is going out of fashion and still no joy. So now I’m at the point where I have waved the white flag and surrendered to them. Saying that I will forever try and test new concealers. However, when a concealer has the words, ‘Kick Ass‘ in the title, you’re damn sure I’m intrigued. It’s a three piece camouflage kit that is designed to conceal, hide and set your under eye and blemish areas.
The darling little compact is enough to make me purchase it. I’m actually quite excited to start using this despite my all of my negatively surrounding my dark circles. It’s a clever idea and makes being on the move that little bit easier. The left shade is for those frustrating bags and the right shade is for any blemishes on your face. The translucent powder is there to keep it all in place. It’s just too cute!
Now onto the much hyped about L’Oréal La Palette Nude. I have been seeing so many bloggers uaing this in their everyday beauty routines. It has been featured quite a bit and I have finally been able to get my hands on it. Now, unfortunately the joys of blogging brings some ‘out of my hands’ photography lighting. The shades in my image look more purple toned but believe me, it’s a beautiful warm nude set of shades.
I can definitely see myself creating a nice smokey eye. When I tested it out in Boots, the pigmentation seemed quite good so I am looking forward to testing it out in the coming days. I’ve a few nights out coming up so it will be the perfect opportunity to get creative.
If any of you lovelies have any great contouring tips please feel free to leave me a comment.
