Being a blogger can be one of the most rewarding experiences you can achieve in life. It brings me great satisfaction and has allowed me to work with talented people and beautiful brands. That said, it has also been a testament. In life we all go through times when we don’t feel our best and unfortunately in the blogging world, particularly fashion, that can effect your confidence and therefore have an impact on your blog. We’ve all been there (well I certainly have) and even now I’m still trying to get back to a place within myself that I am completely comfortable with. For me, taking OOTD posts can be a challenge as I don’t feel naturally comfortable in front of a camera. There are times when it doesn’t bother me and times when you can see in certain shots that I’m uncomfortable. I have definitely went through phases when I’ve envied others for just how photogenic they look in their pictures.
I think that’s only natural though and I’m sure that even the most established bloggers go through the same process. I have been lucky to build somewhat of a name for myself and everyday I’m working hard and meeting with new people in the hope of turning it into a more permanent fixture. The creativity and planning that goes into maintaining a blog is what I find most enjoyable. It’s also a great way to build your writing, networking and interpersonal skills. I love nothing more than finding inspiration from different social media platforms, fellow bloggers, industry professionals and life itself. I’ve also met a lot of new people and some have turned into friendships that I cherish. There is no better feeling that getting together with a group of like minded people talking all things fashion, beauty and lifestyle all the while snapping that essential Instagram coffee or lunch shot. Things don’t happen over night, even after four years of blogging I still have so much to accomplish. I’m not going to lie, there are times when I have thought to myself that things were never going to work out, however everyday is a step closer to my dream and I am looking forward to the future.
Today’s post was a little different from my usual features but I just wanted to share my thoughts. Please feel free to leave a comment recommending any other bloggers to check out or your own blog!
