Never in a million years did I think I would ever utter the words, ‘I’ve met Olivia Palermo’. On Saturday I had the absolute pleasure of doing so and I just can’t believe that it happened. I had given an interview a few day’s before to RSVP Magazine as part of their ‘Women of Style’ series and had named Olivia as one of my style icons and days later I’m talking to her. It all seems so surreal and needless to say I was shaking like a leaf. My jaw wouldn’t relax when taking the photo and of course it’s hard to look decent against someone so petite and beautiful. Haha!
The meet and greet was part of her collaboration with beauty brand, Ciaté and some of her lucky fans got to meet their idol. Her make up and nail collection consists of beautiful rich Autumn shades, buttery lipsticks and glossy polishes. There are also blushers and eyeliners available within the collection that are sure to cater to everyone’s taste. Taking note from Olivia’s favourites, the products were hand picked by her based on what she likes to wear.
I took to the road early Saturday morning in order to make it down on time. With my wristband on my arm, my adventure to the capital with my mama was well underway. When it came to me walking towards her I went blank. I remember introducing myself but some things after that are a blur. Haha. She was so sweet and even more beautiful in real life. The atmosphere was amazing and I was trying my best to keep my cool. It’s not as easy as you think when you meet your icon but I managed to do my best and Olivia very kindly signed my planner and took some photos. It was over in a blink of a eye but I will cherish my meeting with her forever.
Once the shock wore off and I managed to gather my thoughts, I swapped my Kat Maconie boots for some flats and went shopping. I thought it was the only natural thing to do after such an eventful afternoon. For the occasion, I wore my biker jeans from Zara, a monochrome top and my favourite grey sleeveless jacket from Topshop. For my accessories I opted for my large tote from Dune as I had shoes, LOTS of make up and books to carry. I figured it was best to over pack than regret not bringing something. I paired all of this with some Topshop dainty bracelets and a beautiful large statement necklace.
For the rest of the day I drooled over bags that I could never afford, indulged in some Abercrombie & Fitch and Charlotte Tilbury purchases and stopping for treats in St. Stephen’s Green. I had such an amazing day and enjoyed strolling through Dublin with my pretty mama. The perfect day for some mother/daughter bonding.
I just wanted to quickly share the gorgeous lipstick I bought from Olivia’s collection. It’s a lipstick in the shade, Velveteen and it’s so incredibly creamy. It has a satin finish and good lasting power. The shade itself is pretty bold with a dark vampy undertone. Also, along with my planner, Olivia kindly signed a card with her photo on it, absolutely loving it!
I think I’ll be dreaming of our meeting for a long time. Did any of my Irish followers get the opportunity to attend?! I’d love to hear your thoughts. Hope you all had a brilliant weekend.
