Blogging Goals for 2016

I know what you’re thinking. It’s 2016 and the cliché blog posts are going to take the internet by storm… mine included. I have a personal planner that I set my own goals in however I thought to myself that if I put them out in the blogosphere, I HAVE to follow them. I never make New Year resolutions but these are my own version for me and my blog. Usually if I say I’ll do something more, I end up giving up on them mid way through February. Pretty standard. I wanted to kick start this post with a beautiful quote from Just Sayin’ Girl and as I’m compiling this post I’m also busy flicking between the Sound of Music and Little Women, I grew up watching musicals so as you can imagine I’m in my element.

OK, so I have complied some serious notes that I am adamant I’m following as I want to continue to help my blog grow and make more of a name for myself. Last January I featured a post regarding tips on how to set up your own blog (you can read it here) but this year I wanted to do something different and a little more personal for me.

1. Plan, Plan, Plan:

A key element to being a blogger amd a good one at that. I do always plan posts but this year I want to take it one step futher. I have my trusty personalised planner but I will admit that there are times when I have winged a feature or two, usually my Week On Instagram posts. My OOTD looks will become much more of a feature. The Winter has been so dark and dull here in Ireland and finding a good photographer can be a challenge. My favourite one moved away so I’m on the hunt for someone who can capture my stylish moments in a crisp and chic manner.

2. Check out more blogs:

I can be so bad for falling into ruts with my favourite bloggers. I rarely find myself branching out and spending time searching for new and beautiful blogs to follow. It can be a challenge finding time to keep up to date with my own blog but this year I am definitely going to be more proactive when it comes to following new bloggers, reading, liking and commenting on their work. After all I absolutely love and appreciate when you all take time to stay up to date with mine, so I want to broaden my group of blogging influencers.

3. Stay social:

Like I’ve said, I’m terrible for getting into ruts. Without getting too personal, any time I go through a rough patch I find it hard to focus on the blog or my social media accounts, which I’m sure is natural as many of you fellow bloggers will probably agree. However this year no matter what I go through I want to change this into a positive note. I love going into my ‘blogging bubble’ as it’s my happy place. When times get tough I will devote my time to my blog and accounts to help lift my spirits and keep me busy. Of course I will face my personal challenges head on but my point is to not give up on what is important to me. A mini break (which is perfectly healthy) may be required but I don’t want to lose touch completely like I’ve previously done over the years.

4. Organize/Consistency:

Over the past year I’ve spent time indulging in some interior designing. It’s one of my most favourite hobbies to delve into. My vanity/desk area is coming along rather nicely and when complete I will of course share it with all of you and give you all a mini tour. The plan for 2016 is to complete it asap so that I have a clear and obviously chic space to get my work done. With a fresh working area comes the joy of settling down to blog and network and therefore much more of a consistent schedule of style, beauty and lifestyle posts. My desk life is a little similar to this image that I’ve shared (via Just Dandy) and when it’s complete I’ll keep all of you updated. For those of you who are serious about blogging I would definitely suggest creating a peaceful space for yourself to work from.

5. Put Myself Out There:

This point is huge for me this year as I really want to build my brand and also my confidence. I’ve been yearning to start up my own You Tube channel for a year or two now and it is definitely something I’m going to acheieve this year. I’ll be talking all things style, beauty products, makeup tutorials, some interior and of course, travel. I spend so much of my time watching You Tube professionals and I always admire how hey can put themselves on camera. I’m in no way a make up artist or beauty guru but I would just like to share my favourite products, makeup looks and generally chat with all of you in a more interactive setting. I’d love to know your thoughts on this topic so please feel free to let me know if you would like me to do this.

6.Collaborate with more brands:

So far in my blogging career I’ve been extremely lucky to work with some amazing brands and I hope this continues in 2016. As any blogger will know, developing a strong working relationship with various fashion, beauty and lifestyle brands is of vital importance. Over the years I’ve built a great bond with brands I have always admired and I hope to continue this as well as welcoming some new friends to my blog. I enjoy nothing more than working hard to feature their products or services and hearing great feedback from them. It makes me feel appreciated and proud to know that all of these years working hard is paying off.

So what goals do all of you lovelies have for 2016? Feel free to share your blogging dreams or personal goals, I’d love to hear them. Also, let me know your thoughts on my You Tube desires, I’d really appreciate it. I hope you’re all enjoy your day and aren’t suffering too much from your NYE hangover.
