Friends, food and fashion – the perfect alliteration in my opinion. Last weekend I indulged in all three as I was very kindly invited along to Deanes at Queens for an afternoon fashion show by German brand, Evelin Brandt. The Lisburn Road based boutique showcased their finest SS16 looks from a collection of designers. As we were in awe of each look, a three main course was beautifully presented to us (I may have ordered a cocktail or two!). Myself and my friend, Ruth from Welcome to Willow Lane enjoyed a good old catch up. We had the pleasure of dining with mum of two blogger, Anna from Blossoming Birds.
The SS16 collection consisted of chic earth tones, pretty prints and vibrant colours. The looks immediately reminded me of a ‘Hamptons’ style with chic structures, adventurous beachwear and brunch worthy fabrics. An oriental theme was introduced into the show. The incredible silk fabric flowed effortlessly along the runway. It’s a huge trend at the moment, I’m glad I wore my M&S jacket, the rich print made an eye-catching statement.
A variety of typography based styles made an appearance at the show. A soft cream base imprinted with large black letters set the audience’s pulses racing. It reminded me of Carrie Bradshaw’s newspaper dress by Dior that she wore in Sex And The City.
With the beach season fast approaching, the time has come to start thinking about what styles, fabrics and prints you are going to work with. If you’re spending an afternoon shopping on the Lisburn Road in Belfast then be sure to visit Evelin Brandt. Thank you to Michelle and Margaret for taking such good care of us. The show was magnificent and I adored the collections (and the food) that were previewed.
