UD x Alice In Wonderland

Launching a few week’s ago, the Urban Decay x Alice In Wonderland collaboration rocked the beauty industry and many of us beauty bloggers. Like many of you, as a child I was a huge fan of the original Disney movies. I had all of them on VHS (old school throwback) and spent many evenings watching my favourite Disney Princesses and Dalmatian dogs. When I first heard that Urban Decay would again be collaborating with Disney I was over the moon. The big kid in me felt very nostalgic and I knew I had to have a piece of the iconic collection. Inspired by the latest installment Alice Through The Looking Glass, the brand have once again created a masterpiece.

“If I had a world of my own, everything would be nonsense. Nothing would be what it is, because everything would be what it isn’t”. – Alice

As always, I’ll kick start today’s post discussing the packaging. If you’re a regular visitor to my blog, you’ll know that packaging is of vital importance to me. The vibrant and magical print without a doubt portrays the classic Disney movie. The quirky and backward theme that runs throughout the film has been incorporated within the packaging. Urban Decay are known for creating unique palettes with 3D pop up details and this one is no exception. The majestic quotes from Alice In Wonderland appear on the main interior of the palette.

Time to talk about the eyeshadows themselves. I haven’t swatches my palette yet as I’ve been away. I’ll definitely give you all a demo over on my Instagram so be sure to keep an eye on it. When I was in store I played around with it and the pigmentation was beautiful. I really like the bold pops of colour that run throughout it, they’re a nice addition that vamps up the palette. I decided to treat myself to a magnificent burgundy lipstick called, Mariana. I know that I’ll end up keeping both products as show pieces.. I don’t want to hit pan on them as they’re limited edition. You’ll all probably think I’m crazy but it is one of my quirks.

Did any of you manage to get your hands on this highly anticipated collaboration?! I’d love to hear your thoughts on the products. Hope you’re all having an amazing week.

  1. I love packaging! Very playful and yet mysterious too! I think I liked the palette more than the lipsticks though! They’re brighter than I thought they would be! ūüôā
