Last weekend I was very kindly invited to Réjouir Skin Clinic on the Lisburn Road to get a skin consultation and treatment using Image Skincare products. I was very excited to undergo an analysis using a state of the art Visia Skin Scanner. This photographic process allowed my lovely therapist, Pamela to see what is happening with my skin at a deeper level. Afterwards she then prescribed treatments and homecare products that are personalised to me. I’m going to be brutally honest with my results in this post so I would definitely recommend taking serious care of your skin so that you don’t end up like me.
Lasting around 40 minutes, Pamela gave me an indepth analysis of my skin. Texture, sun damage and bacteria were the three main concerns. I was actually in shock when bacteria was highlighted. Pamela explained to me that it doesn’t mean that I’m unhygienic, it’s an underlying problem deep in my skin from all of the sun damage. The barrier of my skin has been broken with the UV rays and it has caused harmful effects. I knew I would have sun damage as only up until a few week’s ago I started wearing a daily SPF. It’s an absolute disgrace on my part and now I have to try and correct all of the damage. Thanks to Pamela, I now know in great detail what omegas I need, ingredients I need to stay away from and a fresh new skincare routine designed specifically for me.
After getting over the shock of my results, we quickly moved into a beautiful room to start the treatment. As I got snuggly on the heated bed, Pamela began the Illuminating Facial. It’s a clinically designed treatment that gives that coveted luminosity radiance and glow. She started with the Image Iluma Cleanser to give my skin a deep clean and combat some of the damage. It has been recommended that I use this product in my daily routine. It works deep into my skin and removes any dirt and makeup. For a while I had been using the Micellar Cleansing Water and it turns out that it was causing more damage to my skin. I was under the impression that I was cleaning loads but not to the extent that I should have been. Pamela then applied the Image Clear Cell Clarifying Gel Mask to help clear up my texture issues. It was quite a strong mask that is not to be used regularly. It’s designed to act fast on giving my skin a really deep clean and smooth out any bumps.
The next step was applying a HOT towel around my face (which was absolute heaven) to gently remove the product. It also soothes the skin during treatments. I have previously used the Iluma Lightening and Brightening Serum and I was delighted to have Pamela lather my skin in it. Once the facial was complete I also received an incredible shoulder and arm massage. Talk about the VIP treatment, it was a majestic experience. By the end of my consultation and treatment, I was educated further on my skin and what areas I need to focus on. I also understood certain ingredients better and I have a brand new skincare routine that is so easy and quick. Pamela very kindly gave me a travel kit of the Iluma range that will help kick start my new regime. Every morning and night I will cleanse, apply the serum, eye cream and moisturiser. I also invested in some Egyptian Cotton face cloths to remove my makeup and give my skin a good clean.
One of my favourite new products has to be this amazing SPF and moisturiser. It smells SO GOOD and is basically a 3-1 savour that mattifies my oily skin, gives me great protection from the sun and hydrates all in one. Without sounding cheesy I genuinely look forward to my morning and evening skincare routine. I can feel the texture in my skin improving and I can’t wait to go back in three months to get an update. I’ll have another photograph taken and we’ll discuss the results and hopefully positive changes.
I honestly can’t thank Pamela enough for taking such great care of me. Without sounding hypocritical as I abused my skin when it came to taking care of it, please make sure you wear SPF on a daily basis. I’m now working hard to try and correct the serious damage it has done to my skin. Don’t take it for granted.
