The Holiday Edit

Now that I’m gently easing myself back into the blogging business, I wanted to share a collection of my favourite looks for Summer. I’ve hand picked my top choices from various high street brands that I feel will make you feel hotter this season. I don’t know what it is but when Summer starts I immediately go on a major wardrobe revamping especially now that I’m off on my travels in July.

I just get so excited when it comes to Summer shopping and I can often feel very overwhelmed particularly when it comes to shopping online. I’m like a big kid in a sweet shop and my eyes become bigger than my belly making it a little stressful at times. If you’re anything like me then I thought that it might be helpful for me to put together my top picks to give all you of somewhat of an idea.

Zara:

Depending on what type of holiday you are going on, dressing for it can be simple and multi functional. Personally I’m not the kind of person who limits myself to certain looks for different times of day. If I like something and want to dress it down for daytime or add a few details to it for more of an evening look, then I will. It all really depends on what I’m doing or where I’m going and of course the mood I’m in. The looks I’ve pulled from Zara can be worn for a little daytime glam at the beach or an effortless evening look.

Option 1: Raffia hat || Embroidered kimono|| Linen dress|| Gladiator sandals

Option 2: Floral print blouse|| Cropped tank top|| Kimono sleeve dress|| Long printed kimono

Mango:
I love this high street brand for a more specific look with their slogan tees, statement jumpsuits and cut out pieces. For my upcoming travels, I’ve definitely invested in some specific statement pieces with a few rock ‘n’ roll shirts, floral play suits and classic Levi shorts. I can see myself wearing these when I’m touring the West Coast with that laid back California style and vibes. I still need to invest in a classic demin jacket and various other wardrobe staples but I’m hoping to purchase them over there as their American brands are much, much cheaper than here. My one weakness when it comes to fashion is without a doubt cut out pieces . I’ve an entire wardrobe full as I’ve spent endless hours on Instagram following my favourite Bloggers and admiring their travel style.

Option 1: Tropical print jumpsuit || Beatles t-shirt || Embroidered top || Floral flowy playsuit

Option 2: Cotton shorts || White open sleeve top || Green lace top || Striped cotton top

Next:

We all know just how much I adore this brand having worked with them in the past (you can have a nosey here). So when it comes to those classic yet bold swimwear styles, it’s this high street heaven I turn to. As my mummy always said to me when I was growing up, “Never skip on decent swimwear or underwear, a good put together piece is important”. Now with that being said, I’m very unfortunate to only have some breast bone to offer, I appeared to have been left out of the boob department and sometimes even I think I look like a boy. Therefore a well made suit or two piece that ‘enhances’ my iron board shape is crucial. I do love those flat like styles that look chic but unfortunately when I do that my body just looks confused.. which is the front and which the back?!?! Find a piece that is 100% comfortable, practical (no one needs to loose a anything when diving into the pool) and of course, makes you feel incredibly confident!

Option 1: Red dress || Stripe maxi dress
||  Floral bikini || Cream embellished kaftan

Option 2: Sports bikini || Geo print bikini || Orange & Navy print bikini || Black plunge swimsuit

Topshop:

For those cool kids who want something a little edgy and keeping up with the current trends, there are some one off styles that I’ll pick up here. I do for the most part feel too old now to shop in Topshop now but I’ll give it a go from time to time. I do love their shoe collection but the idea of walking around Ireland flashing the aul midriff is an absolute no go for me. On the other hand, when I’m in American I’ll probably end up doing it as no one knows me and I’ll not care who sees me (providing my tummy isn’t as wobbly also). They’re great for the logo/branded top and dresses which I really do love. I’ve spied a few cool tee’s that I’m going to get for lounging in the airport and travelling around the country. In fairness they always have thee best shoes and accessory collection on the high street – these suede sliders and embellished bumbag are incredible!

Option 1: Boyfriend dungarees || Yellow sun top || Iron Maiden dress || Boyfriend shorts

Option 2: Cut out maxi dress || Embellished bumbag || Suede sliders || Soft wrap maxi skirt

Hope you all managed to book a mini break or much needed beach holiday for yourselves. I can’t believe how fast my trip is approaching – now I just need to fit all of pre holiday shopping into my case!
