Even though I’m glad to see the end of Summer, I have a few more posts from Spain that I need to feature. I feel like I’m under pressure to get them out before they become dated and aren’t relevant to the current season. So what I’m trying to say is expect a lot of summer style posts in the next two weeks! I can’t wait to get back to the cold crisp days, dark nights and good old Irish dinners. The return of the Sunday dinner will be welcomed with open arms. I’ve a few exciting weeks coming up, starting with the highly anticipated launch of the new KIKO store in Belfast. I cannot wait to get a good look at all of the gorgeous products, it’s one of my favourite brands.
Over the years I’ve built up a trusty collection of makeup brushes that I either use on a daily basis or specific styles for when I’m going out. When I first started blogging I had a very basic selection of brushes that I used for everything. Looking back I don’t know how I managed it as with experience I find I need certain brushes to create and achieve certain looks. Whether I’m carving out my brow, sculpting my contour or touching up my highlight, I need the correct tools to accomplish a flawless look.
I’m kick starting this week on such a high! I feel extremely humble to have received such heartwarming responses after my Chronic Anxiety post. I never in a million years thought I would have had so many incredible people contact me so I just want to say thank you. I’ve also got my little chipmunk (my nephew) visiting for the week so I’m absolutely thrilled. He has such an adorable personality and he’s getting bigger by the day. I’m waiting for him to waken up so we can watch Miffy and get some cuddles.
During the week I was eagerly awaiting the arrival of a very special delivery. I treated myself to my first ever Self Portrait piece. I’ve always adored the brand as cutwork styles are my favourite. I just think they add such a unique edge to a look and the quality is excellent. I have shared a sneak preview but in the coming week’s I’ll share the entire look in a feature.
I have spent most of this week waiting *patiently* for parcels to arrive. I’m still waiting for the rest of my IT Cosmetics to arrive (thanks for that Beautylish). On Wednesday the mothership of all things beauty was posted in the form of Sephora. I decided to go ahead and order the Becca x Jaclyn Hill Champagne Collection Face Palette. There has been much controversy surrounding the eyeshadow pallette but thankfully my order did not disappoint! The pigmentation, texture and quality are Becca worthy and I’m madly in love. To say it’s majestic is an understatement, the packaging is very ‘Instagram appropriate’ and the colours certainly pop.
It’s been a while since I last shared my favourite beauty YouTuber’s (you can read my original post here). I thought it was about time I featured an updated collection of people who I enjoy watching. I will say that some of these lovelies do opt for a full on glamour look. Yes this may not be to everyone’s taste but I still find it interesting to watch how they create such a detailed look along with the skills and techniques they use. There are a variety of beauties from across the world that I’ve been obsessed with. With the goal of starting up my own YouTube channel some day, I only hope I can achieve as much as these inspirational ladies have.
