If you’re a long term subscriber to my blog then I’m sure you’re all familiar with my trips to County Kerry. I spent many years of my childhood in the South of Ireland and it’s without a doubt my happy place. I love the rush of memories I get of my family and I spending our summers in the sunshine, at the beach and exploring. It holds a very precious place in my heart and I still take regular trips down to see my family. Known also as The Kingdom, it truly is with the breathtaking views, iconic beaches and simplistic lifestyle. I never went on my first foreign holiday until I was eighteen (Ibiza probably wasn’t the most sensible of choices!) and that is a part of my life that I treasure. I love that my family were old school and kept the Irish tradition alive by taking us all down South every year, something I hope to continue when I have my own family.
At the start of May I took a much needed trip down to my second home, County Kerry. It’s without a doubt the most peaceful and picturesque part of Ireland to visit. I spent all of my summer holidays there as a child and now I have family living in The Kingdom. The weather was AMAZING and I made the most of it by revisiting my favourite spots around Killarney. There are so many incredible sights to see and Ross Castle was top of my list. The sun was shinning but there was a refreshing cool breeze making my outfit choice simple. I have been OBSESSED with my Oriental inspired bomber jacket, I literally cannot stop wearing it. Not only are the exotic prints a majestic feature but the material is light yet keeps you warm at the same time. I love those kind of clothes and it always reminds me of Irish mummies when they say, “Make sure you bring a light jacket with you. That one cloud in the sky is looking angry”.
Recently I had the absolute pleasure of enjoying a much needed catch up with my two favourite beauties from, Next. Alice and Chantelle very kindly treated myself and other media influencers to a luxury overnight stay at Belfast’s 5*, The Merchant Hotel. Included in our fabulous get together was a relaxing treatment and afternoon tea at their iconic Spa.
Summer has arrived!!! This phenomenal weather has been INSANE, I could get use to waking up to this sunshine every morning. Talking about sunshine, I wanted to give you all a mini update on my skin. On Wednesday I featured my shocking skin discovery (you can read it here) and already the texture and blemish issues have started to improve. Obviously I’m unable to see the SPF progress but I’m hopeful that my skin is repairing well. I genuinely look forward to my morning and evening skincare routine, I’ve finally taken my skincare serious and I just hope it improves.
Where has the week went?! This year is absolutely flying by, hard to believe we’re almost into June. I can’t wait to enjoy some much needed time off. I’ll be planning plenty of trips to Kerry and hopefully a forgein beach holiday for good measure. Just having the freedom to be a little more spontaneous is always a great feeling. When the sun is shining (please be kind Ireland) I find that your day can take you anywhere.
