The weekend has finally arrived! It’s certainly been a busy one between events, birthday’s and a great catch up with my good friend Ruth from Willow Lane. I was recently at the launch of the new KIKO store in Belfast and it was absolutely amazing! If you’re not familiar with the brand it is Italian based and their products are not only incredible but purse friendly! I’ll be featuring them on my blog next week so keep an eye out. So… this week on my Instagram it has been a firm mixture of style, beauty and travel shots. I’ve been featuring lots of my Spanish looks, my ColourPop collection and a colourful photo diary from my recent holiday.
I actually cannot believe that October is coming to an end. The week’s have been flying in and before we know it we’ll be celebrating Christmas! I’m so excited for Halloween, I just love seeing the decorations. I think I’ll just opt for a nice takeaway and some drinks all while indulging in some scary films. I have been trying my best to save as I have so much going on at the minute. I’m hoping to update my technology gadgets, a new camera and laptop are on the cards so I must save like no other as they’re not cheap! That being said, I have managed to build up a nice little favourites corner of products, clothes and accessories to share with all of you today.
I recently invested in a new paint pot from MAC in the shade, Groundwork. It’s very Kylie Jenner esque for all of you 90’s fans. I use Painterly as a neutral base however I wanted a darker shade for a more deep vampy look. They are such good base tones and make blending out my shadows effortless! I’ve been absolutely loving red nail polish again. It’s such a classic look and my favourite colour to wear during Autumn. When Winter comes I usually opt for a much darker shade. It’s from Marc Jacobs and I recently featured it on the blog, here. I’ve been kicking it old school a lot with my trusty Benefit bronzer, Hoola. It’s such a universal shade and again is so easy to blend. I use it to warm up my face and as a light base shade for when I am contouring. I’ve been on the search for a new daytime foundation and opted for the L’Oréal Infallible matte collection. I’ve only been using it for a week or so but so far I’m really enjoying it. The colour match is perfect and it has a great last power, not very many touch ups required however as I have such oily skin I do need to work on my T – zone but other than that I love it.
My final beauty favourite for this month has been my Zoeva palette in, Coco Blend. It’s warm neutral collection with some beautiful deep reds and browns thrown into the mix. I’m such a sucker for a buttery texture with my eye shadows and this palette is no expection. The pigmentation is good however I would suggest mixing some Fix+ from MAC if you’re looking to create a spotlight eye as the highlight shades need a little help. Other than that I still absolutely adore this palette.
You’re all probably fed up from seeing my camel coat and shoes from, Next but they’re by far my favourite key pieces for this season. I featured them on the blog a few week’s ago ( you can read it here) and I haven’t stopped wearing them. The shoes are so comfortable to wear and the coat is incredibly chic and easy to style. When I was in Dublin a little while ago, I stocked up on some Pandora and Mango goodies. The lovely girls at Pandora invited me down to see their new Christmas collection where I was kindly gifted with this rose gold feather ring. I already have the matching necklace and I was dying to get the ring. I absolutely love it, it’s a beautiful statement piece while giving off a pretty delicate vibe too. I also ventured into Mango and picked up some gorgeous Autumn pieces including this floor length grey cardigan. Apologies that you can’t see all of it, I’m planning on shooting a look with this very soon on the blog!
In celebration of Halloween, I wanted to share a snap or two from my favourite holiday. Last year I was in Salem for the festivities and had an amazing time checking out the town. It was an unbelievable experience and my real life, Hocus Pocus. Definitely need to back back again for a visit!
Have any of you got any plans for Halloween?! I love scrolling through Instagram to see how much effort people put into their costumes, particularly the beauty bloggers that I follow. Have a great one no matter what you get up to!
It’s been a while since I featured a nail post and I thought who else to blog about that the icon that is, Marc Jacobs. When I was in New York last year I spent quite a bit of time in Sephora. The American designers are so purse friendly in the states, I think this polish only cost around $18. I featured it last week in my Autumn essentials post (you can read it here). Today I decided to share a swatch of me wearing it for all of you lovelies.
I always use a touch of my Nails Inc favourite, 45 Second Top Coat. It’s enriched with caviar and leaves a beautiful wet look finish. They’re the perfect combination in my opinion, my favourite colour for Autumn. The pigmentation is good as you do only need two coats, pretty standard for a polish but I just hate when you need to apply endless amounts to get a decent shade.
I get roughly around five days out of the polish without a chip which I find pretty impressive. I could probably get longer wear with the polish but I like to freshen it up every so often.
I hope you’re all buzzing with that Friday feeling. Enjoy your weekend and I will see you all in my next post.
The time has come to branch out from my usual garden background and try something new. I had a more raw and industrial backdrop in mind and I knew exactly where to go. I took a trip down to the Titanic Quarter over by the docks to snap some street style shots for the blog. I was getting ready to head into town for some retail therapy and decided to shoot a last minute OOTD.
I love the architecture within the marina location and in particular, the drawing offices. I’ve previously attended a fashion show in the iconic building and it is one of the oldest buildings in Belfast. The beautiful red brick proved pretty for a walk by shot. Wearing my trusty Topshop sleeveless jacket, I paired it with my oversized polo neck and torn black skinny jeans (also from Topshop).
I have recently became obsessed with British designer, Kat Maconie and invest in a pair of her fabulous ankle boots for Autumn. I wanted to try a new style and these gorgeous burgundy snake skin boots (black version available here) are the chosen pair. I absolutely adore all things metallic and the gold frame heel adds such a unique detailing to them. They are incredibly comfortable to wear and go with so many looks. They are quite pricey but I will get great wear out of them season after season.
I don’t know if you remember but last week I had a lovely dinner with the girls from Next and they kindly gifted me with this black Chloé dupe. It was the perfect accessory to wear with my outfit and it surprisingly holds a lot for a petite bag. I know I’ll be wearing this little beauty lots during Autumn, the saddle trend is making a big impact within the style scene.
Is it possible to get Christmas morning excited about a pair of boots!? Expect to see and hear lots about them on my blog and Instagram. Hope you’re all having a great week.
I just thought that I would keep you updated with the latest goings on. Last night I spent a beautiful evening with the lovely girls from Next at the incredibly chic restaurant, Shu. It’s located on the Lisburn Road and is one of the most renound establishments in Belfast. The intimate setting was perfect for an evening of fine dining, catching up and of course, talking all things Next. Myself and other press professionals were wined and dined and treated like royalty. The food was unbelievable and the company was hilarious. Perfect way to kick start the weekend if you ask me.
Now. Back to the post. I’ve recently been opting for very Autumn appropriate looks. I love going back to basics and keeping things simple and relating to whichever season we are in. I was dying to wear my stripe culottes that I recently purchased along with my khaki green cami top and cream duster coat. I paired all of this with my trusty Carvela gladiator wedges as always. I’ve recently went back to a more chic and neutral palette when it comes to my outfits, I just love wearing a more simplistic look with various details combined. It was such a comfortable outfit to wear that required very little styling especially when it came to accessories.
I don’t know about any of you but I have such a Friday feeling today! I’m so happy it’s the weekend, I just want to relax instead of going out. Maybe I’m getting old! Haha.
