Aztec in Autumn

Autumn is well and truly in full swing and the time to bust out the coat has arrived. I often find shopping for the perfect style, colour and print difficult as not all of them look flattering. I got this aztec coat last year from Marks and Spencer after seeing the fab Fearne Cotton wearing it.

It’s pretty light weight yet holds the heat like you wouldn’t believe. The silk lining keeps me nice and warm while the bold print does all of the talking. It’s by far one of my favourite pieces from my wardrobe and I wear it constantly during the autumn/winter season.

I paired it with my new favourite Zara top and torn boyfriend jeans from Topshop. I kept all accessories and make up to a minimum as there is a lot going on with this look. Sometimes I just love laying off the jewellery and focusing on the clothes themselves. By the way, how cute is the pink pom pom?! I’m really into them at the minute. I love mixing and matching them with various bags.

I’ve had these tan cut out ankle boots for a few year’s now and rarely wear them. Every time I get them out I tell myself that I need to wear them more (another strange trait of mine) and I’ll make sure I do this season. They are a really comfortable shoe to wear as the heel isn’t that high and they are so easy to style, I loved pairing them with my jeans.

Happy Friday, lovelies! Hope you all have a great weekend, I’ll be spending mine indulging in some retail therapy!

Summer at Warehouse

Given the fact that it is June and supposedly Summer (It’s hard to tell between the rain and sunshine). I thought I’d share my latest print purchase with all of you lovelies. When it comes to statement pieces, I always head to Warehouse in Victoria Square for all things vibrant. I definitely do prefer a bold look over a sweet sherbet style as I personally think it’s what suits my skin tone best. I definitely feel more like myself when I wear prints and bright colours, particularly during the Summer months when I have somewhat of a tan (It’s hard to get one with Irish summers).

The Aztec print is always a strong contestant during the brighter months. This gorgeous yellow and navy chiffon top is the perfect style for casual daytime looks and Summer BBQ’s. It has an open spilt back, although it was too cold to flash the flesh. If you keep an eye on my Instagram then I’ll be sure to upload a shot when it’s warmer.

The love for my Carvela gladiator sandals is real. I love any excuse to wear these beauties, they’re so comfortable and they go with everything. I always try to incorporate some edge into my looks, I like combining different styles together. I think it makes your outfit more personal and shows your own creativity.

Hope you’re all having a great week. Lets cross our fingers for some actual hot weather throughout the entire summer, I’m in dire need of some Vitamin D.
