Eyebrows – the bane of my soul. I’ve NEVER been blessed in this department and even when I go for over a year without grooming them .. THEY. DO. NOT. GROW. They cause me great upset as all I long for in life is a set of brows without bald patches, ones that can hold a tint for more than a day and don’t look like two little swimmers. When I first started working with the lovely PR folks at Benefit Cosmetics, I had shared my distress regarding my uneven caterpillars/swimmers and the lovely Mark kick started my brow journey. After a *long* chat about them, he sent me in the direction of their brow bar – enter the beautifully, talented Giannina. After working her magic over the years on my little rascals she has now proudly open her own exclusive brow boutique in the heart of the Lisburn Road.
Recently I was invited to attend the official opening of the amazing new KIKO store in Belfast City Centre. A breakfast/press launch was beautifully put together for a variety of media influencers throughout Belfast. I brought along a good friend of mine and it’s safe to say that we definitely indulged in a crazy makeup shopping spree! I have been a huge fan of the Italian brand for many years now and just a few week’s ago I was shopping up a storm in their Spanish stores. A few of the products that I wanted in Spain were out of stock but they finally became mine at the Belfast launch. The high pigmentation, impressive quality and eye catching price has left quite the impact on us all.
It’s only December 4th and already I’ve been to the Christmas Markets a douzen times. There is no better way to get into the festive spirit than a trip around City Hall shopping and sampling some delicious food. I always make sure to go it when it’s dark as it just looks so much prettier. The twinkling lights, hot drinks and mouthwatering waffles make the market my favourite place to spend my evenings. Each year City Hall seems to work with a colour scheme. I remember last year it was multi-coloured and this time around it is a cool blue and ice white duo.
Any time I go, I usually head straight for the sweets ‘n’ treats. I’m sure you’ve all came across my favourite white chocolate waffle on my social media. It has replaced the triple chocolate muffin and huge fudge chunks. I also dabble in the burgers and freshly made pizza’s, they are to die for! If food isn’t for you then there are plently of gorgeous hand made interior pieces just like the adorable framed piece. I’m such a sucker for quotes!
Happy Friday, lovelies! Hope you all have a great weekend, I’m sure some of you have your Christmas party going on. If you fancy a trip to the markets, don’t forget to wrap up warm!
Having studied art growing up, I have always enjoyed spending my time celebrating the work of others. Carrie Neely, a well known art consultant from Belfast has made an impressive impact on the art scene from the UK to New York. Having moved to London in 1977, Carrie spent ten years working with some of the worlds’ top named artists, dealers and galleries including Damien Hirst, Jeff Koons, Charles Saatchi, Eyestorm, Magnum Photography, Rankin and David Bailey. She also ran her own art gallery in Bloomsbury, next to the British Museum. Her past client list includes Diesel, Reebok, Sony BMG, Selfridges, Olympus, Agnes B, Hewlett Packard, Donna Karan, Hiscox, Fortnum and Mason, Based Upon, David Collins and Candy & Candy, as well as many high profile individuals and celebrities.
The new wave of Northern Ireland’s top creative entrepreneurs, artists and fashion glitterati turned up to support fellow creative business woman Carrie Neely in the Launch of her newly branded Art Consultancy ‘Art Loves’ in The Ivory Belfast. Art Loves showcased a stunning exhibition of limited edition prints by contemporary Irish artists ‘Art Loves Editions’, a project funded by the Arts Council NI to support local artists and create accessible, affordable art to be sold online through www.artloves.co.uk.
Myself and my Aunt enjoyed browsing all of the magnificent contempary pieces from various artists throughout the country. I love to invest time celebrating up and coming artists particularly those who are graduating from the art college at the University of Ulster. Throughout my time in school and university I was always a huge fan of pop art especially legendary artist, Andy Warhol. You can imagine my excitement when I first set eyes on this breathtaking Marilyn Monroe print by artist, Christine Trueman.
I absolutely adore a good statement piece. Those of you who follow me will know that I enjoy vibrant clothing and accessories so it’s only natural that my taste in art is the same. This bold print Magnetic Sea, is an exquisite portrait by artist, Trevor J Brown. I just love the drama of this piece as it is a one of a kind style that is definitely worth the purchase.
If I had my way, I would have purchased so many pieces. There is something dark yet beautiful about this next print. Named I Need Time by Anne Corry it is the perfect title and I found it quite personal. Needing more time is the story of my life so I couldn’t help but giggle when I first came across it. The rawness of this piece is so appealing to me and I think I will have to invest it it over the next few months.

Thank you to Carrie for inviting me to such a great launch. I had a lovely evening browsing such talented artists and enjoying the odd cocktail. The exhibition is open to the Public until the end of July on the 3rd Floor of House of Fraser.
During the week I was invited to attend a gorgeous afternoon tea at the lavish Fitzwilliam Hotel by the lovely Jenny and Momina from Clarins. The event was set up to showcase their Summer make up collection, Aquatic Treasures.
It was the perfect setting by the toasty fire which was accompanied by a selection of mouthwatering sweets ‘n’ treats for us to nibble on. The sampling and discussing of the new Aquatic Treasures products followed with some girly chats about New York for good measure. My blogging buddy, Willow (a.k.a Ruth) from Willow Lane was with me and we chatted, sampled and took an unhealthy amount of ‘selfies’ for old times sake.
So. Back to the glorious make up. We were all there to play with and discuss the new Aquatic collection that will be available from May. It is everything that Summer represents; A warm illuminating glow, shimmering soft skin and a beautiful sunkissed bronze look. For the Summer nighttime natural look, I am equipped with every eye product I need for that soft but strong smokey eye. I am super excited to test out their Eclat Minute Base Illuminatrice as I love a good radiance product. It will look perfect worn as a primer or on its own for those make up free days. It comes in two shades, Apricot and Golden Bronze which is great for when I’m in holiday with a tan. To say that we were spoilt with beautiful gifts today is a slight understatement.
Would you just look at that bronzer?!?! The packaging alone is fabulous, it has an amazing compact mirror for touching up your make up throughout the day. What I love most about the bronzer is how it comes in four different subtle shades. Starting from the top left, it is more of an highlighter and is great for brightening up the key points of your cheecks and face. For when it comes to creating the perfect contouring look, plent the palette together for that summer glow.
Over the past year, I have become obsessed with eyeshadows whether they’re single shades or glorious palettes. I was immediately drawn to their cream to powder colours. I have seen other beauty bloggers such as Victoria from In The Frow rave about their waterproof mascara and khol liner pencil. When I first applied the liner to my hand, I absolutely adored how creamy it was. It blended beautifully with the smudger on the opposite side of the pencil. I am extremely excited about using this beauty over the weekend.
I was honestly floored when the lovely Jenny and Momina handed me my goodie bag. They put together such a brilliant event and took care of us so well. I loved the one on one interaction, it was a nice change from the normal beauty event as it was more intimate and personal.
*** Please note: The Radiance – Plus Golden Glow is available from counters and online from March. The limited edition Shimmer Body Oil will be launching in May alongside the make up.
Again, thank you so much to Momina and Jenny for having me. I had such a brilliant time and look forward to any future events.
I’m planning on spending my weekend creating some looks using all of these gorgeous products. I will be sure to keep all of you lovelies up to date with the products.
