If there’s one area of skincare that is underrated in my opinion – it’s a good makeup remover. Once upon a time I used baby wipes but quickly stopped when I learnt just how damaging it was to the skin. For a while now I’ve been using baby oil (out of pure laziness) but it’s a little too harsh for my eye area. They dried up quite a bit but I also think it was part hayfever too as the itchiness was quite intense. I’ve been shopping around for a little while looking at various cleansing balms to help break down and remove any makeup or pollution. Pestle & Mortar have made such an impact on my beauty regime with their Hydrochloric Serum and now I’ve introduced their latest addition, Erase cleansing/makeup removing balm into the mix. It’s an oil like balm that is designed to remove even stubborn makeup and of course those day to day elements such as dirt and any environmental issues.
Over the past 18 months I have found it challenging to maintain my weekly blog posts, get in front of the camera and all round make the effort. I could tell you a million reasons why I haven’t but I’m finally in an amazing place and ready to take responsibility. Personally, I don’t see the point in blogging if I’m not able to truly enjoy it so I’ve taken time to get myself together. You all know my previous history and now I’m 100% on the mend (I’ve made a few lifestyle changes i.e; healthy eating & working out) and now I’m so EXCITED for what the future holds!! After my upcoming Summer adventures (you can read them here) I’ve some serious decisions to make – like whether or not I want to stay here in Ireland or move and start a new life abroad.
I’m usually late to the party when it comes to the huge MAC launches. However, this time I *accidentally* stumbled upon the new vibrant Summer collection. Vibe Tribe is the appropriate festival esque line to grace the iconic makeup brand this season. With bold packaging (I’m such a sucker for attractive details) and shades, the collection is everything and more.
As much as I have an ever expanding makeup collection that consists of various brands, one high end name that was missing was, Dior. I love many products as much as the next beauty blogger but highlighters are without a doubt my favourite. A healthy glow is a must have in my daily routine (except on a night out when I like to be seen from space).
I first became a huge fan of Sara Donaldson when I watched my favourite show, Fashion Bloggers. Her natural beauty, simplistic style and all round Australian personality makes her a firm favourite and inspiration. Her blog, Harper & Harley has made a huge impact on the fashion world and she lives a very stylish life travelling the world, working with some amazing designers and starring in a hit show.
Featuring alongside top Aussie bloggers and style icons, Kate Waterhouse, Margaret Zhang, Zanita Whittington and Amanda Shadforth, she helped catapult herself into the blogosphere and kick start her career as a serious business woman and designer. The TV was a huge hit when first broadcasted last year on E! and now it’s set to return for its second season. I’m so excited to see what is in store for the new series.
The girls are recently enjoyed a trip to the fabulous Dubai which I’m hoping is going to be featured in the new season. The images that all girls are uploading to their Instagram accounts, particularly Sara is just breathtaking. They’re spending time taking in magnificent sunsets, shopping the souks and taking in the culture.
Attending events comes part and parcel with being a blogger. You get to experience some beautiful dinners, shows and even trips to share with your followers on your blog and throughout social media. Sara however has had the absolute pleasure of attending some exquisite intimate dinners by top name brands such as Mercedes Benz, Marie Claire and rstheCon, I could only dream of taking a seat at one of those but luckily she gets to experience it all for real.
When a girl shows some love for shoes, I share some love for her. A girl can never have too many pairs and Sara has an insanely impressive collection. From Balmain to Sophia Webster, she has an eye for seriously fabulous heels and unique prints. Even though her style is quite simplistic, she loves making a statement with her choice of footwear. Those Balmain beauties are unbelievable, I could definitely see myself styling those babies.
As always with my inspirational bloggers that I feature, I love to show some Instagram love. Can we just take a moment to appreciate the fact that she comes from one of the worlds most amazing cities, Sydney. I envy her for that alone, it’s a place that I hope to visit one day soon so for now I’ll see and live it vicariously through Sara. Attention to detail is a must for her, she loves sharing shots that are natural and consist mainly of natural light. Of course I adore her personal style so I thought I’d share this breathtaking shot of Sara wearing this effortless white lace dress with a beautiful Moroccan style backdrop.
Hope you’re all having a fab day! What did you all think of the first episode last night?! I just can’t get enough of it, I’ll be watching it again on catch up!
Be sure to watch Fashion Bloggers every Thursday on E! at 9.30pm.
