My week on Instagram ♥

So this is the week when we all decide to go off our favourite things for fourty vey long and painful days. One of mine is the clichè ‘chocolate’ cut off, my poor skin and waistline can’t take anymore!

My week on Instagram has been busy filled with fashion and food. I sampled a delicious blueberry and chocolate pancake, my yummy birthday cake and a scrumptious lip scrub from Lush. Hence the sweet stuff cut off! 😉

SpringSheen

Over the weekend I spent Saturday shopping and sipping on sweet, sweet cocktails. As ever on my shopping spree, I visited the trusty MAC make up counter, to see what new pieces they had on offer.
image

I’m always like a big kid when I’m in MAC because I get so excited by the tiers filled with a variety of sparkling products. I’ve wanted to purchase this sheer tone shimmer blush for a while now and I was beyond excited when I finally treated myself to it.

image

When it comes to this type of cosmetic, I always tend to opt for the more coral/pink tones with a golden sheen as it works best with my skin tone and always leaves me with a natural glow.

image

When applied it leaves a matte finish with soft gold specks running throughout it. MAC are always renowned for their long lasting and durable blushers. Usually some may save this shade of blush for the spring/summer months, but, I prefer to wear this colour throughout the year to give my look a little warmth.

I think I’m definitely going to buy more shades from their blusher collection. I also really want their Copper Sparkle pigment shadow to add to my MAC collection. Happy Hump Day!

Beautiful Bella Bamba

If there is one make up product that I can’t live without, it is the luxurious, rich, and flirty blusher. I have a nice little collection of different brands and shades building up and I’ve now become obsessed with Benefit’s ‘Bella Bamba’ blusher. Now, it wasn’t easy getting this gorgeous heaven in a box, it is quite popular and now I can see why.

image

If the disco inspired packaging isn’t enough, then I don’t know what is. The stunning array of seductive shades are enough to make any beauty babes heart skip a beat. It’s bright, its bold, and, it’s all mine! 😉

image

With my skin tone, I prefer a warm shade when it comes to using blusher. I tend to wear more of a rich pink tone during the summer months and I would opt for an auburn shade during those dull winter months. With the triple dimension of pink, it’s designed to brighten, sculpture and define my cheeks.

Check out the images for yourself and if you need this little baby in your life, then I suggest you go get one now as they’re hard to get!

What I love most about the blusher is how natural it looks, just a tint of colour is all that is needed. If I want to emphasize it more for a night out, then I’ll just apply a few more coats. Have a fab week, enjoy the sun! 🙂

Superdrug Haul

Yesterday I ventured into Superdrug with the intention of buying some nail polish remover. Next thing I know, my bank balance was £60 down but I could be happier. Sometimes it’s the small things in life that make me happy like buying a new blusher, trying out a new product or treating myself to my new favourite make up brushes by Real Techniques. (That makes me sound extremely materialistic but you know what I mean! )

image

I’m going to start my haul with something Simple. I used this brand before for all of my skin care but since converting to another brand, I’ve recently found heaven again in their eye make up remover pads. They’re soft on my eyes, which is great since it’s such a delicate area. There is no alcohol or oil, artificial perfume or colouring which is important when taking care of your skin.

image

Next up on the big haul, is these stunning Bourjois blusher, eye shadow and lipstick. I’m going to kick it off with this beautiful blusher in a smouldering Rose Coup shade. It is a fine, lightly textured and incredibly transparent blusher which is perfect for blending. It gives such a healthy glow and looks perfectly natural.

image

Moving onto my new favourite colour shot eye shadow, it literally sparkles like a diamond and is perfect for the summer season. I love how it offers an intense and high coverage look while lasting long throughout the day and night. It’s highly concentrated pigments blend into a very silky and easy to apply powder. You can even use it as a liner by applying it with a slightly wet brush, perfect!

image

If there is one beauty product that I love, it’s the trusty and timeless lipstick. I picked up this gorgeous coral shade from Bourjois and their Rouge Edition range. I love how soft it is yet provides you with a serious pop of colour. Once again, it’s perfect for the summer months and can be worn during the day or on a night out. It adds a touch of moisture to my lips which I absolutely love. I bought all three Bourjois products and got these pretty summer sunglasses free with my purchases. Not bad, eh? 😉

I’ve recently become addicted to Samantha Chapman’s Real Techniques make up brushes, they’re soft and professional and perfect for applying make up with. A while ago, I bought this brush set ( you can view my post here ) and I wanted to expand my collection. I bought myself a blusher, powder and stippling brush. Each brush provides you with a flawlessly blended look for an air brushed and highly defined look. I can’t recommend these enough, they’re perfect and are sold at such an affordable price!

I bought a few other pieces, but, I don’t think you ladies need to see my hair spray and nail polish remover! 😉 Hope you’re all having a fabulous weekend!

Love At First Sight

Valentine’s Day has been and gone but that doesn’t mean you can’t spoil yourself with some love inspired make up goodies. Limited Collection by Marks & Spencer have a gorgeous make up collection designed for the most romantic time of year. Last week, I ran my pretty pink heart-shaped lipstick competition and this week I’m reviewing their adorable blusher.

The packaging alone is the ultimate girly blusher. The pretty different coloured hearts make it all the more appealing. The actual blusher colours have some soft shades of purple and pink running throughout it.

image

I always test the products on myself but this time I wanted to try it out on someone who has a completely different skin tone and hair colour to me. Please welcome my very stylish friend, Christine.

image

Christine is the ultimate girly girl and all round cutie. She is a self-confessed fashion and beauty addict. I knew if she gave it the thumbs up then it is worth investing in.

I wanted to upload an image of the little lady without any blusher on so you all could see how good it works.

image

Now for the magic. I lightly sweeped some of the blusher across her apple and cheek bone. Straight away, the beautiful shade of pink made an appearance. What we both loved about it was how natural it looked. It wasn’t too bright but still managed to give her a natural glow. The pretty purple shades included in it mixed perfectly with the pink tones.

image

After seeing the results I knew that it would be perfect for my weekend of partying tonight and tomorrow night.

Thank you to my beauty intern, Christine, for reviewing it with me. Even though Valentine’s Day is over, why not treat yourself to this adorable blusher.
