October Favourites

I actually cannot believe that October is coming to an end. The week’s have been flying in and before we know it we’ll be celebrating Christmas! I’m so excited for Halloween, I just love seeing the decorations. I think I’ll just opt for a nice takeaway and some drinks all while indulging in some scary films. I have been trying my best to save as I have so much going on at the minute. I’m hoping to update my technology gadgets, a new camera and laptop are on the cards so I must save like no other as they’re not cheap! That being said, I have managed to build up a nice little favourites corner of products, clothes and accessories to share with all of you today.

Beauty:

I recently invested in a new paint pot from MAC in the shade, Groundwork. It’s very Kylie Jenner esque for all of you 90’s fans. I use Painterly as a neutral base however I wanted a darker shade for a more deep vampy look. They are such good base tones and make blending out my shadows effortless! I’ve been absolutely loving red nail polish again. It’s such a classic look and my favourite colour to wear during Autumn. When Winter comes I usually opt for a much darker shade. It’s from Marc Jacobs and I recently featured it on the blog, here. I’ve been kicking it old school a lot with my trusty Benefit bronzer, Hoola. It’s such a universal shade and again is so easy to blend. I use it to warm up my face and as a light base shade for when I am contouring. I’ve been on the search for a new daytime foundation and opted for the L’Oréal Infallible matte collection. I’ve only been using it for a week or so but so far I’m really enjoying it. The colour match is perfect and it has a great last power, not very many touch ups required however as I have such oily skin I do need to work on my T – zone but other than that I love it.

My final beauty favourite for this month has been my Zoeva palette in, Coco Blend. It’s warm neutral collection with some beautiful deep reds and browns thrown into the mix. I’m such a sucker for a buttery texture with my eye shadows and this palette is no expection. The pigmentation is good however I would suggest mixing some Fix+ from MAC if you’re looking to create a spotlight eye as the highlight shades need a little help. Other than that I still absolutely adore this palette.

Style:

You’re all probably fed up from seeing my camel coat and shoes from, Next but they’re by far my favourite key pieces for this season. I featured them on the blog a few week’s ago ( you can read it here) and I haven’t stopped wearing them. The shoes are so comfortable to wear and the coat is incredibly chic and easy to style. When I was in Dublin a little while ago, I stocked up on some Pandora and Mango goodies. The lovely girls at Pandora invited me down to see their new Christmas collection where I was kindly gifted with this rose gold feather ring. I already have the matching necklace and I was dying to get the ring. I absolutely love it, it’s a beautiful statement piece while giving off a pretty delicate vibe too. I also ventured into Mango and picked up some gorgeous Autumn pieces including this floor length grey cardigan. Apologies that you can’t see all of it, I’m planning on shooting a look with this very soon on the blog!

Photography:

In celebration of Halloween, I wanted to share a snap or two from my favourite holiday. Last year I was in Salem for the festivities and had an amazing time checking out the town. It was an unbelievable experience and my real life, Hocus Pocus. Definitely need to back back again for a visit!

Have any of you got any plans for Halloween?! I love scrolling through Instagram to see how much effort people put into their costumes, particularly the beauty bloggers that I follow. Have a great one no matter what you get up to!

Christmas with Pandora

Christmas in October?! I know what you’re thinking but within the world of fashion, you always need to stay that little bit ahead to keep your clientele captivated. Pandora undoubtedly have a huge following and come Christmas, they are the ultimate destination for timeless and treasured gifts. Celebrating the launch of their new flagship store on Grafton Street, Dublin and the preview of their festive jewels, it was a very merry evening.

The delicious treats were a fab starting point before making our way around the exclusive launch. I’m a real sucker for sweets ‘n’ treats at events, they add such a personalised touch and fuel us for of sugar before the grand unveiling. The iced cookies were as delicious as they look, they worked beautifully with refreshing cocktails and wine we were sampling.

image

The delightful Vogue Williams was our DJ for the evening helping to set the mood with trendy tunes. Pandora really did go all out for this event with Dublin’s finest fashionista’s, socialites and media personalities and little old me! Haha.

Now.. down to business. The theme for the evening was a vibrant blue undertone against the crisp white interior making it a firm favourite for us social media addicts. A white wooden Christmas Tree was the centre piece as magnificent and delicate Pandora jewellery draped beautifully from the branches. I don’t know about any of you but that’s definitely my kind of tree, the room was perfectly sparkling giving all of us that warm festive feeling. I’ve been really into rings this season, I tend to go through phases with my jewellery. Last year I was all about delicate necklaces and now it’s rings. This beautiful trio of silver diamante’s is such a pretty combination, the layering trend is massive and this little set is the perfect gift.

image

image

As I’ve previously said, our evening was centered around the gorgeous Christmas charms. I have a weakness for novelty jewellery, Halloween and the festive season is a popular time for my collection! The detailed charms are just so pretty, the red present was my personal favourite. I love how Pandora mix colourful piece’s with silver charms, it helps to keep things fresh and unique. I’m wanting to build my jewellery collection and I have my eye on the gorgeous circle Pandora ring. I don’t really have any silver piece’s so I think this one will look good mixed with my gold and rose gold rings.

image

Before leaving, I was very kindly gifted with a voucher and purchased this rose gold feather ring. I’ve had my eye on this little beauty for a while now after first seeing it at the launch of their rose gold collection back in the summer (you can read the post here). I have the necklace and wanted the ring to match. It’s such a flattering piece and I absolutely love it. Rose gold is definitely my favourite jewellery material, it’s such a beautiful warm tone and always looks so flattering.

Thank you so much to Aimee and Pandora for having me down. It was such a magical evening and the beautiful jewellery was worth the journey. I can’t wait to start building my collection, first stop… the rings!

Inspirational Blogger || Anouska Proetta Brandon

Anouska Proetta Brandon is an Irish fashion blogger who has made a massive name for herself within the industry. Today there are a lot of bloggers from the green isle who are creating and building a career for themselves following in Anouska’s footsteps. She is one of few who have went beyond the profile of just being a blogger and working with huge names such as: H&M, River Island and Parfois.

Starting up her blog in 2011, she wanted to create an outlet to share her personal style. Today it has transformed into a fashion, lifestyle, travel and photography blog. Basically anything Anouska finds inspirational can be found on her blog and incorporated into her own style in a unique and timeless manner. Her style is definitely described as classic meets chic with basic staples paired alongside bold accessories and sharp structures.

image

image

In my opinion, Anouska is the kind of girl who can wear pretty much any look. She has the body shape and confidence to rock a cute demin skater dress (a style that can be hard to pull off) or a full on structured suit. She is 1/2 Irish, 1/4 Spanish and 1/4 Austrian. Her first name is Russian and her second name (Proetta) is Italian, and of course Brandon is Irish. No wonder the girl can wears so many looks with all of these amazing cultures in her blood. Can we also just take a moment to appreciate the simplicity of black lace and a silk scarf?! Absolute perfection!

image

Did I forget to mention that Anouska has a thing for printed floors?! Yes, you heard, floors. As us bloggers are keen to take inspiration from pretty much all areas of life and decorate our Instagram and blogs with beautiful and unique shots, you can often find the ‘from where I stand’ hastag a strong favourite in our feeds. The perfect shoes are essentials as is the textile on the floors, with some sneaky editing and perhaps a filter, you’re pretty much good to go.

I was in complete awe over Anouska and her style during a recent trip to Prague. Her pictures were beyond breathtaking with perfect shots of iconic landmarks, the obligatory ice cream angle and of course her fabulous style. I fell head over heels in love with this magnificent wide leg jumpsuit. It looks effortless on Anouska as she has kept the rest of her accessories etc to a minimum.

With Autumn just a stone throw away, I cannot wait to see what gorgeous layered looks Anouska will be wearing. I would seriously recommend checking out her blog if you eat, sleep and breathe fashion. If there are any bloggers you would like to see featured, please don’t hesitate to get in touch! 🙂

Best of 2014: Visiting the Benefit Boutique

On Saturday I was invited down to Dublin by the lovely, Sofia from Benefit Cosmetics, to visit their new boutique store located on the lush South William Street.

Having braved the horrendous weather, myself and my fellow blogger buddy, Christine (www.dollshousejournal.com), made our way to their stylish boutique on Grafton Street. I was fueled with excitement and anticipation as I was very curious as to how the store would look.

My eyes lit up as soon as I walked into the boutique. I’ve never seen such a fabulous store, it’s my dream store! The decor consisted of sweet candy coloured striped walls, vintage style mannequins and inspirational quotes covering the walls.

There was a great atmosphere in the VIP room where myself and fellow Irish bloggers enjoyed a catch up with Benefit babes, Mark and Sofia. At times it was hard for me to concentrate due to the delicious cupcakes and cookies that we had at our table.

The Benefit team walked us through their latest beauty launches for their new Lollitint and Porefessional transloosent powder. We also got to have a look at the amazing eyebrow gel that isn’t launching until March. Although us lucky bloggers got to get a sneak preview of it and a sample to take home. 🙂

It was such a fabulous afternoon catching up with the Benefit gang and finally getting to see the new boutique. Without a doubt, I’ll be taking another trip down to Dublin very soon for a day of pampering at the store!

Thanks to Sofia and Mark for inviting me down and spoiling me rotten with Bene goodies. Hopefully see you again soon! ♥

I also managed to fit in a little shopping in the magnificent, Brown Thomas, and of course, a sneaky pint of Guinness. 😉

Hope you all had a very stylish weekend! 😉

Flamingo Season

Over the weekend, I took a quick trip down to Dublin for their Fashion Festival. The stylish Cathy O Connor and Brendan Courtney were hosting their own style segments as part of the festival. I have always been a huge fan of both fashion figures and I was excited to get the opportunity to meet them.

image

As much as I was down in the City for fashion related events, I couldn’t help but squeeze in a quick trip to Gino’s ice cream and crepe parlour. I first tried their mouthwatering ice cream back in June and I’ve been hooked ever since! I also meet up with a beautiful Irish designer to discuss an amazing project that will be happening this year! 🙂

image

In between the shows and my meeting, I couldn’t resist a visit to Parfois. I absolutely adore their handbags, purses and jewellery, so I was excited to see what they had in store for AW14. I’ve been quite good over the past few months when it comes to shopping for handbags and clutches. I have built up quite a collection and now I buy only styles that are unique and a must have!

image

My eyes instantly lit up when I came across this quirky flamingo style cross over. It’s such a unique bag, I can also wear it as a clutch bag which is great. I have never really came across a print like this before so I knew I had to have it. I had a huge smile on my face when I was paying for it as I was excited to add it to my wardrobe and it only cost me £23! ♥

image

It’s a big bag which I love and the detailing of it is just perfect. The flap over has a hidden zip in it and the interior is gorgeous. It’s big enough to hold all of my daily essentials and make up for when I’m on the move.

image

The print on the bag is such a dreamy design. I have always loved flamingos and it’s a nice change from the animal print trend. Cats, dogs, zebras, they’ve all been ‘in trend’ at some stage. This pretty print is a nice change and one that I can’t help but invest in.

image

I have to admit that it felt good to take one week off from blogging. I needed to recharge my batteries and focus on other things. However, I’m sooo happy to be back! A rest is always good. 😉
