The Lust List

I’ve been a fan of Sally Spratt’s for a while now. While she has a quirky name, she is also an extremely talented graphic designer, artist and illustrator. Her passion for design lies in fashion, graphics, typography & illustration. I first came across her work on Instagram. This social media site is incredible for discovering new talent. Her handle name is ‘The Lust List’ and she uses this proudly in each of her illustrations.

You all know that I’m a huge fan of this form of art, particularly when it focuses on all things fab and fashion related. As Sally states in her Instagram biography, “If I can’t have them, I’ll draw them”. I love her outlook towards her illustrations, nice to know that she is a funny yet down to earth girl. 😉

Having studied Visual Communication at the University of Technology in Sydney, Sally’s career as an all round designer and illustrator began to take its course soon after graduating. I personally love how she combines certain themes throughout her pieces. With a Parisian style, there is lots of Chanel, chic scents and of course, the Effiel Tower! It’s perfection. ♥

The Lust List is basically a daily post involving a beautiful illustration representing a piece of fashion or beauty that Sally dreams of owning. Like I have previously said, I love her thinking behind her latest project. Every one of us has a ‘Lust List’ that consists of that perfect Chanel handbag, Tiffany ring, Hermès watch or Valentino heels. Why not put them onto paper?!

When I eventually have a home of my own, I want to fill it with breathtaking illustrations just like Sally’s. They’re such a fresh and fantastic take on the art of illustrations. They would look magnificent hung in a solid black frame to really make the art pop.

Camillus Couture – Fashion Illustrator

During the week, I was contacted by Camillus Couture, an Irish fashion illustrator and designer. Based in London, Camillus is known for his quirky cupcake bag designs and hand drawn fashion illustrations.

Fashion illustrations are one of my favourite types of art. There is something quite personal about them. I love the combination of colours mixed with the ink of a pen. I’ve featured previous fashion illustrations on my blog before (you can read it here).

Camillus’ portfolio includes many high end fashion magazines, designers and of course, supermodels. Today I’m going to share his fabulous Hermes, Linda Evangelista, Victoria’s Secret, Vogue Paris, Chanel, and classic Vogue.

His A4 illustrations are priced at £35, and can be purchased online: Camillus Couture

If you’re an Instagram addict like myself then check out Camillus’ account (camilluscouture) for more information. Naomi Campbell, Gisele, Selita Ebanks, and Coco Rocha have liked and commented in his work. If it’s good enough for them, then it’s definitely good enough for me! 😉

Happy Friday ♥

My week on Instagram ♥

From going to the Zoo, trying to be a grown up and spending way too much time on Instagram, my week has been relatively quiet.

This week has involved a lot of me sitting on my behind and watching too much TV. Firstly, I’m very excited that New Girl and The Mindy Project has returned. Secondly, Belfast Fashion Week model and former Miss Derry, Ashleigh Coyle, is on Big Brother. Woohoooo! Good luck, Ashleigh. ♥
