Sunset Beach

When I was a teenager I use to watch a TV show called, Sunset Beach. It was such a cringe worthy soap and I loved every minute of it. I think it was based in California in a Laguna Beach type location. It would make your skin crawl as the acting and storylines were so bad but that’s what made it so good, very Days Of Our Lives style.

I spent Halloween up in the North Coast of Ireland in a town called, Portstewart. It’s the most idyllic seaside village with the most beautiful scenery and sunsets (hence the TV show reminiscing). Myself and my man friend made a quick stop at the beach as I couldn’t resist a quick OOTD shoot against the magnificent backdrop. The beach was pretty empty at this time of evening apart from the odd dog walker and a few surfers. The waves were amazing and the sky was turning a pretty pink and reflecting beautifully off the silky sand.

For our day out/road trip, I opted for my favourite khaki bomber jacket from Topshop and paired it with my grey embellished tee (you can see it fully here) from Warehouse and my biker jeans from Zara. I’ve been loving my Adidas Superstars so much this season and I’ve been wearing them pretty much everyday as they’re incredibly comfortable! My trusty Parfois cross body bag and Oakley sunnies made for the perfect accessories.

I hope you all had a great weekend and didn’t have to endure too much of a Halloween hangover. I guess now that it’s November the Christmas countdown has officially begun! This year is going by soooo fast!

October Favourites

I actually cannot believe that October is coming to an end. The week’s have been flying in and before we know it we’ll be celebrating Christmas! I’m so excited for Halloween, I just love seeing the decorations. I think I’ll just opt for a nice takeaway and some drinks all while indulging in some scary films. I have been trying my best to save as I have so much going on at the minute. I’m hoping to update my technology gadgets, a new camera and laptop are on the cards so I must save like no other as they’re not cheap! That being said, I have managed to build up a nice little favourites corner of products, clothes and accessories to share with all of you today.

Beauty:

I recently invested in a new paint pot from MAC in the shade, Groundwork. It’s very Kylie Jenner esque for all of you 90’s fans. I use Painterly as a neutral base however I wanted a darker shade for a more deep vampy look. They are such good base tones and make blending out my shadows effortless! I’ve been absolutely loving red nail polish again. It’s such a classic look and my favourite colour to wear during Autumn. When Winter comes I usually opt for a much darker shade. It’s from Marc Jacobs and I recently featured it on the blog, here. I’ve been kicking it old school a lot with my trusty Benefit bronzer, Hoola. It’s such a universal shade and again is so easy to blend. I use it to warm up my face and as a light base shade for when I am contouring. I’ve been on the search for a new daytime foundation and opted for the L’Oréal Infallible matte collection. I’ve only been using it for a week or so but so far I’m really enjoying it. The colour match is perfect and it has a great last power, not very many touch ups required however as I have such oily skin I do need to work on my T – zone but other than that I love it.

My final beauty favourite for this month has been my Zoeva palette in, Coco Blend. It’s warm neutral collection with some beautiful deep reds and browns thrown into the mix. I’m such a sucker for a buttery texture with my eye shadows and this palette is no expection. The pigmentation is good however I would suggest mixing some Fix+ from MAC if you’re looking to create a spotlight eye as the highlight shades need a little help. Other than that I still absolutely adore this palette.

Style:

You’re all probably fed up from seeing my camel coat and shoes from, Next but they’re by far my favourite key pieces for this season. I featured them on the blog a few week’s ago ( you can read it here) and I haven’t stopped wearing them. The shoes are so comfortable to wear and the coat is incredibly chic and easy to style. When I was in Dublin a little while ago, I stocked up on some Pandora and Mango goodies. The lovely girls at Pandora invited me down to see their new Christmas collection where I was kindly gifted with this rose gold feather ring. I already have the matching necklace and I was dying to get the ring. I absolutely love it, it’s a beautiful statement piece while giving off a pretty delicate vibe too. I also ventured into Mango and picked up some gorgeous Autumn pieces including this floor length grey cardigan. Apologies that you can’t see all of it, I’m planning on shooting a look with this very soon on the blog!

In celebration of Halloween, I wanted to share a snap or two from my favourite holiday. Last year I was in Salem for the festivities and had an amazing time checking out the town. It was an unbelievable experience and my real life, Hocus Pocus. Definitely need to back back again for a visit!

Have any of you got any plans for Halloween?! I love scrolling through Instagram to see how much effort people put into their costumes, particularly the beauty bloggers that I follow. Have a great one no matter what you get up to!

My Week on Instagram ♥

It’s been quite a busy week for me. I spent it jet setting between Boston and New York. I visited my two favourite cities during the Summer, so I was excited to go back for Autumn. Each time I go back, I find new parts and places to explore.

Last time I was in New York, it was all about shopping for me. I went out to Woodbury Common in New Jersey and shopped up an absolute storm. However this time I was much more the tourist. I went up the Empire State building, and it was magnificent, I took a trip down to the World Trade memorial, spent a morning exploring Central Park and lived it up in Times Square. I’m not going to lie, I may have shopped just a tad, it would have been rude not to!

Back in Boston, it is a much more relaxed and laid back city. Once again, I spent a lot of my time in Sephora (expect a lot of beauty posts soon) and I spent Halloween in Salem which was absolutely brilliant. Halloween is my favourite time of year, so I enjoyed taking in the culture surrounding the witches. It was a magical week for me (pardon the pun) and I cannot wait to go back to visit in the New Year.

I have to admit that this week my Instagram post is very much American themed. I absolutely loved my visit to the States and I was very lucky to visit and see so many beautiful places. It was a dream come true to spend Halloween in Salem, my real life Hocus Pocus moment!
