Aztec in Autumn

Autumn is well and truly in full swing and the time to bust out the coat has arrived. I often find shopping for the perfect style, colour and print difficult as not all of them look flattering. I got this aztec coat last year from Marks and Spencer after seeing the fab Fearne Cotton wearing it.

It’s pretty light weight yet holds the heat like you wouldn’t believe. The silk lining keeps me nice and warm while the bold print does all of the talking. It’s by far one of my favourite pieces from my wardrobe and I wear it constantly during the autumn/winter season.

I paired it with my new favourite Zara top and torn boyfriend jeans from Topshop. I kept all accessories and make up to a minimum as there is a lot going on with this look. Sometimes I just love laying off the jewellery and focusing on the clothes themselves. By the way, how cute is the pink pom pom?! I’m really into them at the minute. I love mixing and matching them with various bags.

I’ve had these tan cut out ankle boots for a few year’s now and rarely wear them. Every time I get them out I tell myself that I need to wear them more (another strange trait of mine) and I’ll make sure I do this season. They are a really comfortable shoe to wear as the heel isn’t that high and they are so easy to style, I loved pairing them with my jeans.

Happy Friday, lovelies! Hope you all have a great weekend, I’ll be spending mine indulging in some retail therapy!

My Version of A Chanel

Hi my lovelies! How have you all been keeping? For today, I thought I would start things off with a much belated style feature. I’m sharing my absolute favourite handbag with all of you from, Zara. I think they’ve sold out of the handbag but I’ve found a similar style for you here. It’s the closet thing I’ll get to owning a Chanel Boy and I treasure it with all of my heart! Haha.

I bought this bag a few months back and I have used it on every single night out/event/occasion. Even though it is small, it somehow manages to hold all of my essentials in it, I feel like Mary Poppins with it. The solid block colour makes it incredibly easy to style and pair with pretty much any outfit.

I absolutely adore the gun metal chain with the thick black shoulder strap. The detailing on the bag is a beautiful woven style that is perfect for creating a subtle statement. I typically wear it full length but you can double up the strap for a more hold able look.

For this post, I have paired it with my embellished Warehouse tee, leather biker jacket and my gold heeled sandals. It’s a pretty laid back look that works beautifully with the bag. I love the combination of the embellished tee with my bag. I wore a bold lip (MAC’s Lady Danger) and soft smoky eye (Created using my Tarte matte palette) with a casual top knot.

I hope you’re all well and enjoying your summer holidays. See you all in my next post.

Sunday Best

Slowly but surely the dark days are on the turn around and it will be time to break out our Spring looks. Feeling this way, I styled my Sunday best with a touch of colour incorporated. Last year when I was down in Dublin, I took a trip to Penny’s (the Irish version of Primark). They always have better stock than Belfast and you’re not going to see every Tom, Dick and Harry wearing the same item as you. It was there that I picked up this bold printed longline jacket. It’s quite lightweight and extremely comfortable to wear making it an essential piece to style.

Teaming it with my Topshop blouse and ripped boyfriend jeans, Parfois bag and Carvela wedges, I was weekend ready. The jacket has a soft print running throughout it making it look all the more pretty. I wanted to keep the base of my look simplistic with bold elements mixed in. I purchased this pretty flamingo cross body bag on the same trip to Dublin. Any time I’m in the capital, I always nip into Parfois. It’s the perfect purse friendly brand and they have a gorgeous selection of bags and accessories available.

I purchased these Carvela gladiator wedges around two years ago. Since then, I have not stopped wearing them. They are so comfortable to wear and go with every look within my wardrobe. I prefer a wedge look as I find them less painful, particularly if I’m planning on dancing the night away.

It has been a while since I last featured a full outfit look on the blog. Feels good to get back into the swing of it. I hope you all had a delightful weekend.

My Week on Instagram ❤

Last week I took a little break from blogging. I just didn’t have the energy to write a post, the thought of writing only a few lines made me feel drained. Sometimes as a blogger, it can be hard to find the time to compile a post, source/takes images and stay on top of social networking. A break can make all of the difference and reboost your energy. Do any of you lovelies ever feel like this?

Are you all getting into the swing of things with Christmas fast approaching? Tree decorated, gift shopping complete, party dress sorted? Tis a busy month indeed! As always, please feel free to follow me on Instagram and have a little nosey around my world.

Flamingo Season

Over the weekend, I took a quick trip down to Dublin for their Fashion Festival. The stylish Cathy O Connor and Brendan Courtney were hosting their own style segments as part of the festival. I have always been a huge fan of both fashion figures and I was excited to get the opportunity to meet them.

image

As much as I was down in the City for fashion related events, I couldn’t help but squeeze in a quick trip to Gino’s ice cream and crepe parlour. I first tried their mouthwatering ice cream back in June and I’ve been hooked ever since! I also meet up with a beautiful Irish designer to discuss an amazing project that will be happening this year! 🙂

image

In between the shows and my meeting, I couldn’t resist a visit to Parfois. I absolutely adore their handbags, purses and jewellery, so I was excited to see what they had in store for AW14. I’ve been quite good over the past few months when it comes to shopping for handbags and clutches. I have built up quite a collection and now I buy only styles that are unique and a must have!

image

My eyes instantly lit up when I came across this quirky flamingo style cross over. It’s such a unique bag, I can also wear it as a clutch bag which is great. I have never really came across a print like this before so I knew I had to have it. I had a huge smile on my face when I was paying for it as I was excited to add it to my wardrobe and it only cost me £23! ♥

image

It’s a big bag which I love and the detailing of it is just perfect. The flap over has a hidden zip in it and the interior is gorgeous. It’s big enough to hold all of my daily essentials and make up for when I’m on the move.

image

The print on the bag is such a dreamy design. I have always loved flamingos and it’s a nice change from the animal print trend. Cats, dogs, zebras, they’ve all been ‘in trend’ at some stage. This pretty print is a nice change and one that I can’t help but invest in.

I have to admit that it felt good to take one week off from blogging. I needed to recharge my batteries and focus on other things. However, I’m sooo happy to be back! A rest is always good. 😉
