My Week On Instagram ❤

I love blogging about my Instagram adventures for two reasons. One, I get to share some pretty photos with all of you. Two, it goes live every Wednesday which means that we’re closer to the weekend. The weekend cliché statement I know, but I’m looking forward to letting my hair down.

There is a few outfits shots mixed in which I’m happy about. It has been a while since I posted some styles and I’m really excited to get back into the main reason why I started blogging. I’ve had a few pamper evenings due to the miserable weather (which I’m not complaining about) and some sweets and treats to keep me warm. I’ve featured some beautiful illustrations by the talented Lust List and Megan Hess. They are two of my favourite artists, incredibly skillful and brilliant at what they do.

Do any of you lovelies watch House of DVF? I just found out that there will be a second series of it. I’m so excited, I absolutely adore Diane Von Furstenberg! 💕

My week on Instagram ♥

It has been a while since I shared my weekly Instagram blog post with all of you. Between my holidays and being generally busy, I have to admit that I’ve been slacking recently. It has also made me reflect on what I want from my blog and how I want it to look. I’m hoping to give my baby a makeover in the coming months, sometimes even just finding the time to blog can be challenging let alone re-branding it. However, I’m determined to become more focused as I’ve worked so hard to build my little blog into what it is today. ♥

I’m back to work this week and therefore back to reality. My summer of jet setting is officially over and I can honestly say that I have loved every minute of it. I plan of travelling a lot more this year and making the most seeing new places. 🙂

Happy Monday I guess, hope you’re all having a good one. 😉 (Can you sense my sarcasm?!)

The Lust List

I’ve been a fan of Sally Spratt’s for a while now. While she has a quirky name, she is also an extremely talented graphic designer, artist and illustrator. Her passion for design lies in fashion, graphics, typography & illustration. I first came across her work on Instagram. This social media site is incredible for discovering new talent. Her handle name is ‘The Lust List’ and she uses this proudly in each of her illustrations.

You all know that I’m a huge fan of this form of art, particularly when it focuses on all things fab and fashion related. As Sally states in her Instagram biography, “If I can’t have them, I’ll draw them”. I love her outlook towards her illustrations, nice to know that she is a funny yet down to earth girl. 😉

Having studied Visual Communication at the University of Technology in Sydney, Sally’s career as an all round designer and illustrator began to take its course soon after graduating. I personally love how she combines certain themes throughout her pieces. With a Parisian style, there is lots of Chanel, chic scents and of course, the Effiel Tower! It’s perfection. ♥

The Lust List is basically a daily post involving a beautiful illustration representing a piece of fashion or beauty that Sally dreams of owning. Like I have previously said, I love her thinking behind her latest project. Every one of us has a ‘Lust List’ that consists of that perfect Chanel handbag, Tiffany ring, Hermès watch or Valentino heels. Why not put them onto paper?!

When I eventually have a home of my own, I want to fill it with breathtaking illustrations just like Sally’s. They’re such a fresh and fantastic take on the art of illustrations. They would look magnificent hung in a solid black frame to really make the art pop.

Meet Hayden Williams

I’m sure that you’re all aware that I’m obsessed with fashion illustrations. With my art & design background, I’ve always had a thing for illustrations, but since moving into fashion, it has grown!

I recently came across 22-year-old British fashion designer and illustrator, Hayden Williams. He is a fabulous artist and captures the true beauty of style. His illustrations are one of a kind, magnificent pieces and he has even designed a few celebrity designs such as: Beyonce, Rihanna and Audrey Hepburn. The illustrations I’ve chosen consist of a mixture of high end fashion and well known style icons. From the Black Swan costume to a fabulous Vogue Cover inspired piece, he’s pretty much made his mark as a seriously talented designer and illustrator.

I have to say that the Vogue and over sized ball gown that I saved until last are my favourites. I would love to invest in an illustration or two! ♥

Hope you’re all having a fabulous week!

A Classic Chanel

Despite the horrible weather that battered Belfast on Saturday, I decided to fight the rain and wind, and shop up an absolute storm.

I’m heading to Krakow, Poland, on Thursday so I needed to pick up a few pieces for my trip. While I was browsing in Victoria Square, I came across a delightful little stall that is the ultimate ‘designer heaven’.

Michelle, who is the owner of Chic Art, is a talented artist who creates magnificent fine art and limited edition shoes, handbags, hats and character illustrations that come in a black or white vintage style frame.

Each piece is hand crafted with swarovski elements throughout them. Some even have feathers on them like the hats styles. They’re so unique and a must have for any true stylista!

I couldn’t help but fall in love with these fabulous illustrations so I decided to treat myself. I opted for the ‘Classic Chanel’ piece and I was beyond excited when purchasing it. I love this iconic black quilted bag with swarovski embellishment on the Chanel logo. I’m definitely going to purchase a few more pieces soon!

Hope you all had a fabulous weekend. ♥
