Recently I’ve been having a serious love/hate relationship with Instagram. There will be some people reading this post thinking that I need to get a life but with the blogging aspect I actually rely on it to interact with my readers and share my blog posts. Normally I enjoy social media platforms that are mainly image based like Instagram and Pinterest (I’ve never been a fan of Facebook) but sometimes I find we get caught up on the fakeness of it too much. Seeing everyone’s picture perfect live placed beautifully within a square box and a pretty filter can give an illusion that they live an amazing life 24/7 – this couldn’t be further from the truth!
Let’s just say – the month of May was not kind to me! I was so ill for all of it and I also had to get an operation (I was supposed to get two but that’s a story for another day!). I’m thankfully recovering well after a bad turn but now I’m finally back on track and focusing on every Summer! *end of rant* So apart from everything mentioned above I’ve just been taking it easy and building myself back up.
In my previous features I would have put together a ‘My Week On Instagram’ post but seeing as I’ve been away for while, here’s an Instagram Update. I couldn’t possibly round up nine months worth of images so I’ve put together a few collages of my favourite shots. Even though I took a break from blogging I still managed to keep up with my favourite social media account. I never really lost my spark for it as truth be told it was enjoyable to focus on. With its image based themes and little content required, I loved uploading to it.
The past few days have been crazy busy as I was in my beloved Kerry for my nephew’s Christening. We were all down for a couple of days and for the most part I was unfortunately sick. It’s just my luck as I didn’t get to enjoy nights out, all I wanted to do was sleep it off. The Christening day however was such a lovely celebration. I’m his Godmother and I was so excited to be a part of his big day. He was so adorable dressed in his little outfit and he was lapping up all of the attention. I can’t wait to see him next week in Spain in his little swimwear and splashing in the pool.
I’m kick starting this week on such a high! I feel extremely humble to have received such heartwarming responses after my Chronic Anxiety post. I never in a million years thought I would have had so many incredible people contact me so I just want to say thank you. I’ve also got my little chipmunk (my nephew) visiting for the week so I’m absolutely thrilled. He has such an adorable personality and he’s getting bigger by the day. I’m waiting for him to waken up so we can watch Miffy and get some cuddles.
During the week I was eagerly awaiting the arrival of a very special delivery. I treated myself to my first ever Self Portrait piece. I’ve always adored the brand as cutwork styles are my favourite. I just think they add such a unique edge to a look and the quality is excellent. I have shared a sneak preview but in the coming week’s I’ll share the entire look in a feature.
