Playtime at Replay

During my time blogging, I’ve been to a variety of pretty quirky events. When I was invited down to the Replay store in Victoria Square, I had no idea that I would be designing my own jeans. Brands are becoming more and more creative when it comes to providing us with very clever ways to get customers more involved in their service.

After entering their new store, I first walked around and had a look at their SS14 collection. The style within the store was very cool with a lot of demin and quirky pieces. There were definitely a few items that caught my eye.

After browsing around, then came the fun part! The lovely Chris hooked me up with a very cool pair of jeans for me to play with. 🙂

It all began with picking the perfect coloured buttons to stamp the Replay brand on my perfect jeans. As always, I chose my favourite shade, Rose Gold as my main button. I wanted the mini ones along the pockets to pop so I picked a bright silver.

The tool used to clip the buttons on looked quite technical, but, once Chris showed me how to use it I was on a roll. The same goes for the buffing drill, I felt like Beyonce styling up on own jeans using a power tool in a room full of men. 😉

Thanks to Chris, Calum and the Replay team for inviting me. It’s definitely worth popping into the store!

Happy Hump Day! ♥

Prints, Prints Everywhere

I posted a quick OOTD post on Saturday and now I want to show all of you the purchases I made on my shopping spree.

Warehouse have thee best AW13 collection at the minute. I’ve yet to see any other high street store give them a run for their money. I could have spent and absolute fortune, but, I had to restrain myself.

I bought this stunning navy and coral print shift dress. I love everything about if from the long sleeves to the bold and bright print. It’s the perfect edition to my wardrobe and it’ll help brighten up this dull Winter weather we’re having. ♥

Next stop on my spree was the trusty, Zara. You’re always guaranteed to find all of you’re essentials in there and I was pleasantly surprised when I came across these fabulous printed crop jeans.

image

I’m not usually one for wearing print jeans as sometimes they can emphasise my thighs in the wrong way. However, as soon as I tried them on, I feel in love and I had to purchased them. 🙂

I’d love to get your feedback on my latest pieces. Hope to hear from you all soon.

(Apologies for the poor picture quality by the way!)

Make Your Own Demin Shorts

Is it just me or is it really hard to find a decent pair of demin shorts? A large majority of shorts are those terrible hot pants that show off your bum cheeks. Now, I passed the 17-year-old mark a few years ago, so no one needs to see my 25-year-old ass. Even if I wanted to wear them when I was younger, my mummy would have slapped me silly for trying to leave the house in them! (Bless her, she’s old school! )

I was in the middle of clearing out my wardrobe when I came across an old pair of jeans that I loved, but, they had a rip in the knee. Instead of throwing them out, I decided to try my hand at making my own shorts. Now, they’re no masterpiece and they are a skinny style, so they’re fitted. Next time, I’m going to cut up an old pair of boyfriends jeans to try out the loose style.

image

Anywho, back to the shorts. So I started by lying the jeans on a hard floor and making sure the back side of the jean was placed higher than the front. A lot of people make the mistake of putting the front and back waistline in the same alignment. This will then bring your shorts up at the back and therefore show off your sweet cheeks!

image

I wanted to create a fold up style so I left about an inch at the bottom so that I can turn them up. It also allows for a little trial and error in your creating process. I placed another pair of shorts on top of the jeans to work from the length. Once both pieces are sized up correctly, begin cutting the jeans slowly and carefully.

image

If you would like to go for the threaded look, then pull on some of the threads that have been distressed from the cutting. Next, fold up the extra inch of the short. If you want the crease to stay in place then either stitch them to the short or simply iron it.

I thought about adding a personal touch to my shorts, so I got an old scarf and cut it in two. I then placed it around the bottom of them. I loved the cute style of the scarf combination!

Whatever style you want to opt for, have fun with it and make it look unique. I’m going to finish off the other leg and wear them in the sunshine. 🙂

I would love to get your feedback and find out what you ladies think! 🙂
