Next Camel Coat

In my last OOTD post (you can read it here) I mentioned how I have been going back to more neutral tones with my looks. It’s so refreshing taking my outfits back to basics and this Next Camel Coat is no exception. I’ve never owned a coat like this before; it seems to be very on trend for us bloggers! So I was very excited to style it with some of my keys pieces from my wardrobe and channel my best Autumn appropriate lady.

Along with the coat, these fab monk shoes also from Next are new additions to my A/W wardrobe. I’ve been wanting to branch out with my footwear and try a more preppy style. When it comes to shoes, I need a supportive sole as I can’t wear a completely flat pair. I have the worst feet that are extremely high maintenance so proper shoe choices are a must for me. These black patent beauties are by far thee most comfortable shoes ever. They are the perfect flats for Autumn and are easily styled. I opted for my trusty Zara bag to complete my prep based look.

Can we just take a moment to appreciate the letter ‘N’ prop?! Haha. The fabulous Titanic Quarter is my new favourite location for shooting looks. The architecture is out of this world and my obsession with water based details continues. I also wore my Zara biker jeans and monochrome top to complete the look.

I paired my favourite necklaces with my simplistic look. My treasured Emozioni coin pendent and Pandora longline necklace is a classic combination and personal favourite of mine. The feather piece is from their rose gold collection, it’s my go to necklace at the moment. What I love most about this coat is the strong structure. It is beautifully chic and a popular coat during the autumn/winter months. I’m planning on bringing this beauty with me to Berlin in a few week’s. I’m excited to style it using various colors and prints, I think a dark demin shirt would look amazing under it for a more street style look.

(If you order before 12pm midnight, you can order free to your local store for collection. Visit Next online for more details… Happy Shopping!)

What do you lovelies think of the camel coat trend then?! Sometimes when piece’s are a huge favourite within the blogging scene I tend to stray away, but this one I’ve given into!

JORD Watches

There comes a time in a blogger’s life when you realise just how lucky you are to be doing what you love and getting the opportunity to work with great brands. It was two weeks ago that I had some time to reflect on how far I’ve come and how hard work and persistence pays off. The smallest contact can build your confidence and remind you that all of those hours behind the screen are paying off.

I was contacted by the lovely girls at JORD who specialise in making luxurious wooden watches. Created by a group of artists, designers, marketers and minders the unique and timeless pieces are a new generation of watches and created using a combination of precision CNC machining, laser engraving, and hand finishing. I was very lucky to be able to choose a style of my choice and I was blown away by this magnificent purple heart and pearl face beauty. It’s from their Cora collection and the purple heart wood pairs with opaline Mother of Pearl to showcase the luxe nature of natural materials. It is such a fabulous watch and the details on it are superb.

One particular detailing from the watch that I adore is the breathtaking back. You can see the mechanics within the watch which in my opinion makes it all the more elegant looking. I’ve actually noticed that the majority of American watches have this feature in them. It also had a collection of beautiful swarovski crystals on every other point which are sealed under a sapphire crystal glass. So many magnificent crystal elements in one watch!

The natural purple heart wood is hand finished and pretreated with tung oils and the Cora is splash-proof, making it an essential pool side accessory during the summer months. Their hardwoods are sourced from around the world and aged in the open air, sealing them with natural oil extracts. I love stacking my Michael Kors and Emozioni bracelets with it. They add a pop of colour without taking away from the watch.

I haven’t stopped wearing this little beauty since it arrived in the post. It is the perfect size for my wrist and I love pairing it with different pieces. You can expect to see lots of it over on my Instagram.
*A quick tip I learnt about cleaning wooden watches is to use lemon or orange oil extract as they are the best for cleaning natural wood.

PANDORA ROSE

I have a confession to make. I’ve never owned a piece of PANDORA jewellery… Until now that is! I had the absolute pleasure of meeting with the lovely Catriona and Suzanne from the brand at the Potted Hen discussing all things jewellery and yoga. My favourite metal regarding jewellery has always been rose gold, most of my collection consists of this rich colour. Now I have a magnificent PANDORA necklace to welcome to the family. It is created from a unique blend of copper and silver with 14k rose gold plating. Within the collection there is a touch of pink added to each piece creating a luminous and elegant feeling.

The brand is known for creating unforgettable memories with their pieces, in particular their charms. It’s all so romantic with the collections and a great way to remember special moments in your life. There is a charm for pretty much all aspects of life from travel to marriage, babies to special friends and family.

I was like a magpie looking at all of the gorgeous charms, earrings and rings. It was every girl’s dream sampling all of the pieces while nipping on mouthwatering treats. These fabulous earrings caught my eye instantly, they would help create the perfect festival look. The feather style is a strong feature throughout the collection, it also comes in a ring and necklace. I really need to invest in it for summer, I had so much much trying on all of the rings. I’m loving the layered look when it comes to jewellery so I stacked the feature gem with a pretty bow ring.

Onto the food. I’m still dreaming about the dishes, they were unbelievably delicious. I had thee most amazing salt and chilli prawns to start before tucking into a beautiful chicken and chorizo burger. To say I was full was an understatement but I didn’t want to leave a bite (that’s just how greedy I can be). I would seriously recommend visiting the Potten Hen, the interior is incredibly chic and obviously the food is magnificent.

I was so lucky and grateful to be gifted with this stunning feather necklace. I’ve a few festivals and concerts coming up so I’ll definitely be wearing it to channel the boho vibe. It’s such a pretty necklace and I love the combination of metals. I have so many other dainty gems to layer it with or I can wear it as a stand alone piece. Keep an eye on my Instagram to see how I style the necklace over the summer months.

Thanks again to Catriona and Suzanne for such a lovely lunch and gift. The collection launches in store today so be sure to visit for all things fabulous.

Less Is More

I tend to go through phases with my accessories, jewellery in particular. Sometimes I love making a bold statement with an embellished necklace, boyfriend watch or stacked rings. However, over the past few months I have fallen in love again with the more delicate look. I love wearing simple rings, a single watch or a miminal necklace. I have never been one for wearing big earrings, they don’t suit me and I just don’t enjoy having them weigh me down.

I was lucky enough to receive a beautiful pair of rose gold diamond earrings from Emozioni (thank you!) in the post. You all know how obsessed I am with everything rose gold, add a touch of sparkle to them and I’m in heaven. I was so excited about these little beauties and I have honestly not stopped wearing them.

image

The earrings were launched towards the end of last year. They are incredibly light weight (which I love) and they make a nice change when I don’t feel like wearing a necklace. They’re just so pretty!

image

They make a simplistic statement without looking too much. It’s always nice to try a new look and your accessories are always the easiest way to start. If you’re in the mood for a treat to help banish those January blues, then I suggest starting with some earrings.

Happy Wednesday, lovelies. Hope you’re all having a great week. Is it just me or is January flying in?

Best of 2014: Accessories: Love, Argento

Last night I had the absolute pleasure of attending the Argento store in Belfast city centre to celebrate the opening of their newly refurbished store. It was a fun filled evening with lots of friends, food, cosmopolitans and of course fabulous jewellery.

Firstly, for the occasion I wore a casual yet cosy look for the event. Lime is my favourite colour for this season, I teamed it with a check shirt, black jeans and my trusty biker boots. It was such a comfortable look for the evening.

image

So, back to the evening. It was the who’s who of the Northern Ireland social scene and of course a few of my blogging buddies were in attendance. I love meeting up with these girls, they’re always a delight! Unfortunately I didn’t think to get a group photo of us all but I did manage to steal a snap with Ruth from Willow Lane Blog and Ian from Rogues + Brogues.

As I entered the store I was amazed with the edgy detailing throughout it. The amout of jewellery on display was mind blowing and I have to admit that at first I was a little over whelmed as I didn’t know which beautiful piece to look at first.

How pretty are these delicate rings by Pandora. They’re the perfect pieces for stacking together and creating the layered look. The leaf style ring can also be worn as a stand alone statement style, think it’s about time I invested in a little Pandora. ūüėČ

I fell head over heels in love with this magnificent sapphire necklace collection. They remind me so much of glorious styles that you would have seen on Elizabeth Taylor. The stone piece also reminds me of the necklace worn by Kate Winslet in Titanic, Heart of the Ocean. ‚ô•

We were all incredibly lucky and grateful as the lovely folk at Argento gifted us all with a piece of jewellery of our choice. Fellow bloggers Aoife and Rosanne chose some fabulous pieces. Aoife opted for a beautiful statement necklace (top image) and Rosanne went with a gorgeous heart bracelet (bottom image).

Now onto my breathtaking yellow gold necklace. I have built up a fair share of rose gold styles so tonight I opted for something a little different. My eyes were immediately drawn to this jaw dropping pear shaped diamond piece. I love how delicate it is however with the gold colour and beautiful sparkle it is bold enough to make a statement. ‚ô•

Up close you can really see the great detail running throughout. The colour is much more luxurious looking when in a normal setting which really makes it pop.

Thank you to Cathy Martin and Argento for inviting me. It was such a lovely evening and I can’t wait to go back to the store to pick up a few new styles for this season! Happy Friday, lovelies.
