If you’re a long term subscriber to my blog then I’m sure you’re all familiar with my trips to County Kerry. I spent many years of my childhood in the South of Ireland and it’s without a doubt my happy place. I love the rush of memories I get of my family and I spending our summers in the sunshine, at the beach and exploring. It holds a very precious place in my heart and I still take regular trips down to see my family. Known also as The Kingdom, it truly is with the breathtaking views, iconic beaches and simplistic lifestyle. I never went on my first foreign holiday until I was eighteen (Ibiza probably wasn’t the most sensible of choices!) and that is a part of my life that I treasure. I love that my family were old school and kept the Irish tradition alive by taking us all down South every year, something I hope to continue when I have my own family.
At the start of May I took a much needed trip down to my second home, County Kerry. It’s without a doubt the most peaceful and picturesque part of Ireland to visit. I spent all of my summer holidays there as a child and now I have family living in The Kingdom. The weather was AMAZING and I made the most of it by revisiting my favourite spots around Killarney. There are so many incredible sights to see and Ross Castle was top of my list. The sun was shinning but there was a refreshing cool breeze making my outfit choice simple. I have been OBSESSED with my Oriental inspired bomber jacket, I literally cannot stop wearing it. Not only are the exotic prints a majestic feature but the material is light yet keeps you warm at the same time. I love those kind of clothes and it always reminds me of Irish mummies when they say, “Make sure you bring a light jacket with you. That one cloud in the sky is looking angry”.
FINALLY… I’m back with a style feature for all of you lovelies. Between the gloomy weather and finding someone who is good at shooting looks, it can be a challenge to post. If you follow me on Instagram, then you’ll know that last week I was down in County Kerry. I spent a few days in the glorious sunshine by the famous, Killarney Lakes. It was an incredibly relaxing break and I made the most of the sunshine. Although that’s probably our summer over now as the Irish weather is never kind.
It has been a while since I shared my weekly Instagram blog post with all of you. Between my holidays and being generally busy, I have to admit that I’ve been slacking recently. It has also made me reflect on what I want from my blog and how I want it to look. I’m hoping to give my baby a makeover in the coming months, sometimes even just finding the time to blog can be challenging let alone re-branding it. However, I’m determined to become more focused as I’ve worked so hard to build my little blog into what it is today. ♥
I’m back to work this week and therefore back to reality. My summer of jet setting is officially over and I can honestly say that I have loved every minute of it. I plan of travelling a lot more this year and making the most seeing new places. 🙂
Happy Monday I guess, hope you’re all having a good one. 😉 (Can you sense my sarcasm?!)
