A Classic Chanel

Despite the horrible weather that battered Belfast on Saturday, I decided to fight the rain and wind, and shop up an absolute storm.

I’m heading to Krakow, Poland, on Thursday so I needed to pick up a few pieces for my trip. While I was browsing in Victoria Square, I came across a delightful little stall that is the ultimate ‘designer heaven’.

Michelle, who is the owner of Chic Art, is a talented artist who creates magnificent fine art and limited edition shoes, handbags, hats and character illustrations that come in a black or white vintage style frame.

Each piece is hand crafted with swarovski elements throughout them. Some even have feathers on them like the hats styles. They’re so unique and a must have for any true stylista!

I couldn’t help but fall in love with these fabulous illustrations so I decided to treat myself. I opted for the ‘Classic Chanel’ piece and I was beyond excited when purchasing it. I love this iconic black quilted bag with swarovski embellishment on the Chanel logo. I’m definitely going to purchase a few more pieces soon!

Cafe Vaudeville Sparkles on their 8th Birthday

A few weeks ago, myself and a friend, headed to the fabulous Cafe Vaudeville to celebrate their 8th birthday party. Dressed to impress in our finest, we headed to Belfast’s hottest cocktail bar for a night of dancing.

Diet Coke appointed fashion designer Marc Jacobs as their creative director in their 30th Anniversary year and the Louis Vuitton designer created three looks that captures the style and spirit of each decade. The three styles consisted of: a tuxedo for the 80’s, a hot pink dress for the 90’s, and a stripy look – from one of his own designs – for the 00’s. For this very stylish occasion, fashion stylish and blogger, Katrina Doran, recreated the three looks that he designed.

Speaking to Katrina about the event, she said: “To recreate the tuxedo look for the 80s I gave the look an update for AW13 and used a pair of gorgeous brocade cigarette pants from Biba as my tuxedo trouser – a black jacket by Linea, a silky white shirt from Pied a Terre and switched the bow tie for an embellished collar to give it a party feel.”

“I also did a second look with Rebecca to show how to use a simple square silk scarf to create a super-cute pussycat bow look. Simply fold in half to form a triangle – then fold again and again until you have a long strip about two inches wide. Tie around the neck in a bow and fan out the fabric to create the bow effect!”

To get the 90s hot pink dress look, Katrina emphasised that: “Something in magenta is essential! I dressed Carys in a hot pink and purple colour block dress by Mary Portas and styled it up with a colour pop Ampersand necklace from Pluck & Devour.”

And finally, Katrina gave us some info on her third style:  “My stripy look included a body con striped mini skirt by Pied a Terre and while I could have clashed more stripes on top – as it was a birthday party I was gave it a sparkly kick with an embellished bomber jacket worn over a green Ted Baker shirt.”

If any of these fabulous styles, make your heart skip a sweet beat, then pop on down to the House of Fraser, Belfast, where you can treat yourself this season.

Amongst the lovely guests, was fellow FABB blogger, Rosanna from www.silverbrogues.wordpress.com. I’ve never met someone as adorable as Rosanna, I loved her chic style and of course, she was wearing a Pluck & Devour butterfly statement necklace. I had a great night with her.

The fabulous and talented Pluck & Devour designer, Grainne Maher, was also in attendance with family and friends, along with the glowing Vita Liberata ladies. It honestly was such an amazing evening, I was loving the tunes that the DJ was playing, from old school beats to today’s chart topping songs, the event sparkled from head to toe.

For my outfit, I decided to keep things classic so I wore my figure hugging black, cream and white dress from Warehouse. I bought this a few months back, but, this was my first time wearing it, I don’t usually opt for quite a figure hugging look, but, I’m so happy that I did. I loved how comfortable the dress was, and I paired it with a deep red lip and black court heels.

Thank you to the FABB, Katrina Doran, Diet Coke, and of course, Café Vaudville to throwing a great birthday bash. ♥

Hope you all had a great weekend.
