Now that I’m easing myself back into this whole blogging business I wanted to create new content. Travel is going to be a huge part of my life this year and hopefully many more to come. I’ve been to the states before but only NYC and Boston. Both are incredible cities in very different ways and this Summer I’m spending a few week’s exploring the rest of America. By rest I don’t mean every single state but a fair amount in my opinion! It is an adventure of a lifetime (you can read up on my initial excitement here) and I’ve been busy researching various hotspots/bucket list places to visit.
Just a little update that I wanted to share with all of you today. Last time we chatted I had mentioned the rut I was experiencing and how it was impacting on me and my blog. After seriously thinking about what exactly I want to achieve this year I bit the bullet and finally ticked off one of my most important bucket list goals – travel. I had been researching various places (I worked out that I want travelling to be my chosen career!) and spoke to an amazing girl at Trailfinders who got to know me, my interests, my concerns (I’ve never travelled on a tour like this before) and what kind of experience is best suited for me.
A short and sweet post for today as I’m heading off to Spain for some adventures in the sun. I’m beyond excited for this trip as a well deserved break is needed! I love when you first get off the plane and the heat hits you in the face. Plenty of sun, sea and sangria will be the main theme on my Instagram for the week. I’m hoping to fit in a little shopping while I’m there and indulge in a few road trips so stay tuned!
It’s been a while since I featured a nail post and I thought who else to blog about that the icon that is, Marc Jacobs. When I was in New York last year I spent quite a bit of time in Sephora. The American designers are so purse friendly in the states, I think this polish only cost around $18. I featured it last week in my Autumn essentials post (you can read it here). Today I decided to share a swatch of me wearing it for all of you lovelies.
I always use a touch of my Nails Inc favourite, 45 Second Top Coat. It’s enriched with caviar and leaves a beautiful wet look finish. They’re the perfect combination in my opinion, my favourite colour for Autumn. The pigmentation is good as you do only need two coats, pretty standard for a polish but I just hate when you need to apply endless amounts to get a decent shade.
I get roughly around five days out of the polish without a chip which I find pretty impressive. I could probably get longer wear with the polish but I like to freshen it up every so often.
I hope you’re all buzzing with that Friday feeling. Enjoy your weekend and I will see you all in my next post.
Every year I tell myself that I’ll make it to NYFW one day, and that dream is still very much alive. It has been on my bucket list for as long as I can remember, however until then I’ll just live it vicariously through social media and bloggers. Obviously as a fashion blogger, I follow a fair share of designers, socialites and bloggers on Instagram that are sharing their collections and NYC moments with their followers.
My main bloggers that I follow during the festivities are: Alexandra Pereira, Rebecca Laurey, Margaret Zhang and Lisa DiCicco Chaue. Each girl has a very different view on the shows and their styles are unique and incredibly chic. I also follow them on SnapChat which is great for instant and raw footage. Everyone loves a little behind the scenes action and these girls sure do deliver that.
Lovely Pepa: Alexandra has been busy roaming the streets of NYC to capture those picture perfect outfit shots and sitting FROW at iconic shows such as, Carolina Herrera. The Spanish beauty has been featuring her adventures on her SnapChat and has been including her glam team beautifying her before shows, she is definitely living the perfect NYC life!
Raspberry n Rouge: Amsterdam based fashion blogger Rebecca is a popular figure throughout the week as she is one of the most well known bloggers today. Her quirky style and European taste brings a touch of culture to the shows making her quite appealing to follow. Her time at the Self Portrait event was beautifully captivating. I’m a huge fan of the designer so I was thrilled when Rebecca uploaded her time at the showcase.
Shine By Three: One of the most inspirational bloggers around, I have been obsessed with Margaret Zhang and her style for years now. Her stint on Australian TV show, Fashion Bloggers made her a household name and now she takes prestigious seats at various designer shows across the globe. Her raw photography is magnificent, alongside her style, she has been loving the details at shows such as, Karen Walker. (Is anyone immediately thinking of Will & Grace. No?! Just me then.)
I’ve also included a selection of my favourite looks from the designers themselves over the past few days. SS16 is looking hot thanks to these talented men and women and of course the models help them sizzle. I absolutely love Lily Aldridge’s look for Diane Von Furstenberg’s show, definitely 1970’s inspired with the retro prints and voluptuous hair. Can we also take a moment to appreciate the fabulous Tory Burch and her magnificent gold plated heels. That detailing is breathtaking, if only they were mine! Zac Posen was certainly the epitome of structure and drama with his incredible pieces. Paying tribute to the free spirit girls, Rebecca Minkoff was very much the coolest lady in town with her effortless and laid back styles. Very much festival appropriate and firm favourites in my opinion. The master of the classic American look, Tommy Hilfiger remains an iconic staple at New York Fashion Week. His collection of one of youth and beauty all while incorporating his culture into his pieces. Again, when you have Suki Waterhouse walking in your show you are going to keep everyone’s pulses racing.

I know the last few features on my blog have been very much Fashion Week based, but it would have been rude not to include them. I’ll be back posting as normal next week.
