Sunshine Haul

Yesterday was a beautiful, sunshine filled day which meant only one thing for me – shopping! 🙂

Over the last week I have become concerned about the amount of shopping I’ve done. I blame being off work for Easter and therefore having too much access to online shopping. Saying that, I bought something during the week that I’m returning, so I figure technically I haven’t spent anymore. (That’s my story and I’m sticking to it!) 😉

I wasn’t in the mood to walk around the entire town so I stuck to four main stores: House of Fraser, River Island, Boots and Topshop. I knew exactly what I was looking for in each shop so I was in and out like a pro.

Starting in Boots, I wanted to treat myself to a well known brand that I’ve heard so many amazing reviews about. La Roche Posay is known widely within the beauty community, in particular their Effaclar Duo [+] Anti Mark Corrector. The product states:

“Complete care with reinforced anti-imperfection efficacy, to help correct the appearance of imperfections, even skin texture and unclog pores”.

I’m very excited to start using this product to see if it lives up to its reputation. I’m going to do a proper review of it in a few weeks so I’ll keep you all posted.

When I was at the House of Fraser SS14 press preview, I was gifted with a gift voucher to use in store. I wanted to treat myself to another skincare buy, so I popped my Origins cherry and purchased their highly recommended, Drink Up Intensive Overnight Mask.

It’s designed to quench your skin’s thirst using nature’s most nourishing nightcaps. Skin awakens your feeling refreshed, replenished and ready to face the day.

Again, I’ll be reviewing this little beauty soon, so stay tuned! ♥

Every now and again, it’s always nice to branch out and try a new look. For me, it comes in the form of adorable frilly ankle socks. I headed to Topshop as they have thee best sock collection around! It was a difficult choice to pick just three, but, I narrowed it down to these beauties. I’m excited to kick start my sock collection and freshen up my look. (P.s… Topshop have a 3 for £8 offer across their sock range!)

I spotted this adorable mini satchel in River Island a while back. I’ve been meaning to buy it, but, just never got round to it. I quickly ran into the store and broke into a slight panic when I couldn’t see the bag. Thankfully, this beautiful little gem was hidden away and I got the last in store! How beautiful are the colours and print? I’m so excited to start wearing it this season. It’ll look perfect worn during the sunshine! 🙂

My Love Affair With Scarves

No one loves a bargain more than me. The variety of patterns, colours and even textures is the best way to experiment and add a little edge to your look. From huge over-sized scarves to short ‘n’ sweet ones, the options are endless.

image

When it comes to wearing scarves I tend to opt for the ‘cowl’ style. Each layer flows beautifully over each other and the colours pop nicely against the cream base colour. I am actually obsessed with scarves. I think every girl can get such pleasure from wearing them. They can add instant glamour to any look.

I thought that I would show you a few of my other favourites. I’m not lucky enough to own an Alexander Mc Queen skull print scarf so this pretty one from New Look  (second from left) is as close as I’ll get in the mean time. I love the dark and edgy colours throughout it. It’s perfect for when I’m channeling the biker look.

For Christmas, my mum bought me these amazing Marilyn Monroe scarves. They are stunning, I love the colours in each one, they allow her face to pop perfectly and stand out. They a nice change from just patterned designs.

I am a firm believer in injecting some colour into my collection from season to season. I’ll forever include a pop of colour somewhere in my look. This huge scarf from Warehouse is exactly what I’m talking about.

Again, pretty florals are huge this season and I’ve had this scarf for a long time now and it never fails to make a statement. Season after season I mix it in with my look and most recently I wore it to Belfast Fashion Week with my tan jumpsuit and cream blazer.

Hope you all like it. Have a great day!

My ‘Carrie’ Moment

I have found the shoe of all shoes. I like to think of them as my modern-day version of Cinderella’s glass slipper. They’re from one of my favourite shoe designers, Kurt Geiger, and their Carvela collection.

image

I had been eyeing these babies up for a few months now ever since seeing them in their SS12 collection. After seeing a friend wearing them at a wedding in September, I knew I had to have them. Unfortunately, they had sold out online and in my local stores, you can imagine my heart-break and disappointment. That awful feeling when you build your hopes up for that one of a kind, amazing item that you can’t live without, and finding out that it’s not going to happen. (It’s just awful.)

image

However, during the New Year sales, I happened to be browsing online (as you do) and was beyond shocked to come across my one of a kind, amazing shoes at a magnificent price. (£120 marked down to £29) I had obviously been a good girl last year. It also just so happened that I had my good old debit card resting beside me, so I didn’t waste any time in buying these one of a kind sparkling beauties.

They’re very much a Sex And The City style shoe. When I first slipped my feet into them, I think it’s safe to say, I had a ‘Carrie’ moment. As crazy as this may sound, I think I may have found my wedding day shoes. (Please don’t judge, a girl can’t help but dream!)

Anywho, how beautiful are these bad boys? They are a high-heeled court shoe featuring a pointed toe finished with a bow. And they belong to me. 😀

Ladies, you really need to check out the Kurt Geiger sale, and the many fabulous collections with the Geiger family. Happy shopping!

I Smell A Sale…

I know this post isn’t exactly style related but it does include a fabulous scented candle, matching room spray and a stunning turquoise necklace. It all happened on Friday while I was eating one of Marks & Spencer’s amazing chicken and chorizo sandwiches and minding my own business. I suddenly spotted a sale in the home department and thought my place was in dire need of some scented smellies.

I have a powerful sense of smell (no jokes please 😉 ) and spent a good while browsing through the pretty scents. Obviously it felt good to buy some, but, it felt even better at the fact that they were on sale. The White Lotus Spa Candle was reduced from £9.50 to £6 and the matching White Lotus Room Spraywas only £3. 🙂 It smells so good and adds some freshness to the room.

Now on to the necklace. The reason why I chose this piece is because I love how different it looks. I haven’t seen any design like this before and of course the beautiful turquoise stones help make it even more beautiful. I got this in one of my mum’s favourite shops, and forgive me but, I can’t remember its name. All I know is that the necklace was £14.99 reduced down to £7.49. Pretty good, eh?

Hope you all have a great weekend. 😀
