Inspirational Blogger || Anouska Proetta Brandon

Anouska Proetta Brandon is an Irish fashion blogger who has made a massive name for herself within the industry. Today there are a lot of bloggers from the green isle who are creating and building a career for themselves following in Anouska’s footsteps. She is one of few who have went beyond the profile of just being a blogger and working with huge names such as: H&M, River Island and Parfois.

Starting up her blog in 2011, she wanted to create an outlet to share her personal style. Today it has transformed into a fashion, lifestyle, travel and photography blog. Basically anything Anouska finds inspirational can be found on her blog and incorporated into her own style in a unique and timeless manner. Her style is definitely described as classic meets chic with basic staples paired alongside bold accessories and sharp structures.

In my opinion, Anouska is the kind of girl who can wear pretty much any look. She has the body shape and confidence to rock a cute demin skater dress (a style that can be hard to pull off) or a full on structured suit. She is 1/2 Irish, 1/4 Spanish and 1/4 Austrian. Her first name is Russian and her second name (Proetta) is Italian, and of course Brandon is Irish. No wonder the girl can wears so many looks with all of these amazing cultures in her blood. Can we also just take a moment to appreciate the simplicity of black lace and a silk scarf?! Absolute perfection!

Did I forget to mention that Anouska has a thing for printed floors?! Yes, you heard, floors. As us bloggers are keen to take inspiration from pretty much all areas of life and decorate our Instagram and blogs with beautiful and unique shots, you can often find the ‘from where I stand’ hastag a strong favourite in our feeds. The perfect shoes are essentials as is the textile on the floors, with some sneaky editing and perhaps a filter, you’re pretty much good to go.

I was in complete awe over Anouska and her style during a recent trip to Prague. Her pictures were beyond breathtaking with perfect shots of iconic landmarks, the obligatory ice cream angle and of course her fabulous style. I fell head over heels in love with this magnificent wide leg jumpsuit. It looks effortless on Anouska as she has kept the rest of her accessories etc to a minimum.

With Autumn just a stone throw away, I cannot wait to see what gorgeous layered looks Anouska will be wearing. I would seriously recommend checking out her blog if you eat, sleep and breathe fashion. If there are any bloggers you would like to see featured, please don’t hesitate to get in touch! ūüôā

Inside Jigsaw

I’ve always been a huge fan of the classic kimono. I find it to be incredibly chic and comfortable look to wear, styling them is effortless and I love how they help add a touch of drama to your outfit. I first spotted my new piece at a fashion show held by leading high street brand, Jigsaw. It was love at first sight and when I paid a visit to the store later that week, I was taking home a new friend. (Plus this fab fluffy pompom and delicious candle!)

image

I was heading out for a family dinner on Saturday night so I wanted to wear something casual yet chic. I paired my kimono with another Jigsaw piece, a grey tee and my khaki green trousers from River Island. I usually wear quite bright looks so it’s a nice change to opt for more neutral tones.

I love the complimentary cocoon-shape, it falls so effortlessly with a relaxed fit and wide style sleeves. It is a beautiful pure silk fabric with an exotic statement floral print, the perfect ensemble. When wearing a piece like this, I would recommend pairing it with a simple outfit so that your kimono makes a bold statement.

When it came to my accessories, I decided to stick with the natural look so I wore my Tom & Eva tote and rose gold gladiator sandals from Office. I was designated driver and driving in heels is my idea of hell.

Happy Monday, lovelies. I’ve an exciting beauty post coming this week featuring a product that I have been dying to get my hands on for a while now so stay tuned!

5 Inches. . .

Shoes. My guilty pleasure. I have an insanely large collection and I’m proud to add another incredible pair to the family. I had been eyeing up these beauties for while and thankfully they were reduced in the Boxing Day sales. Finnish fashion blogger, Sandra Hagelstam collaborated with River Island in 2014 to outstanding success. I have featured the breathtaking Sandra and her blog, 5 Inch And Up before as part of my ‘Inspirational Blogger’ series. I found it tricky trying to pick just one pair as her collection is devine. Each style is so chic and sophisticated and I’m madly in love.

image

I chose the grey snakeskin ankle boots with a sock – look print panel. I wanted to purchase a pair that are unique and a style that I do not already have. I waited each day for them to arrive, to say I was excited was an understatement!

image

The chic snakeskin print makes them pop beautifully and I’m excited to give them their first outing. Having followed Sandra and her blog for a few years, I love how she has stayed true to her own personal style and it shows through her collection.

image

I’m not usually one for wearing stiletto heels, my feet are not the easiest when it comes to breaking shoes in. However, I wanted to try a new look and I thought that these beauties would be perfect. When I first tried them on, I was pleasantly surprised at how comfortable they were. Now don’t get me wrong, I will have to wear them around the house for a few days first. I think I’ll wear them as a dinner and cocktail shoe. As much as I would love to, there is no way I could dance the night away in them.

image

I haven’t had the chance to snap a shot of me wearing them, but I promise I’ll get that sorted in the coming weeks.

Happy Friday, rascals. I hope you all have a lovely weekend.

My Week on Instagram ‚̧

Back to reality with a bang, eh? The work week has well and truely started after the holiday period. As much as I don’t like to admit it, I like being back in my routine. I’m sure I’m not the only one who feels this way?! ūüėČ

It is quite a girly timeline from my Instagram feed this week. Plenty of make up, food and fashion. I treated myself just a tad over the festive period, everyone loves a little Chanel. I still have a list of things to get though, next on my list is the breathtaking Hourglass palettes. Just next to book a sneaky trip to Sephora!

Sound of the Sales

It is crazy to think that Christmas is over. Sometimes I sit back and think that all of that hype was for one day! However, I suppose that is what makes it all so exhilarating. When you see your loved one tear open their gift and the look of excitement on their face makes it all the worth while. After you have digested your food baby and sweated the alcohol out of your system, for us ladies the task of shopping the sales takes on a whole new level.

I prefer St Stephen’s Day (Boxing Day) as it is perfectly acceptable to lounge around in your new fluffy PJ’s and indulge in some Quality Street sweeties and a touch of online shopping. I have never really been the type to pound the pavements to snap up a bargain, I would rather relax and shop online from the comfort of my own home. However saying that, I know everyone is different and I understand that there are ladies out there who enjoy making the trip into town to treat themselves and spend their Christmas gift vouchers for Boots and Debenhams. Today, I have highlighted some of my favourites bargains from the sales, some I have already purchased.

1. Accessorize РSurpreme Stacking Ring Set: WAS £17, NOW £6.

I am a sucker for stacking rings, it is my new favourite piece of accessory to wear on a night out. The combination of black and gold is a personal favourite of mine. These gorgeous styles from Accessorize are an absolute steal.

2. Lulu Guiness Black & White Stripe Clutch: WAS £325, NOW £195.

Ahhhh, my darling Lulu. I have been a huge fan of Lulu Guiness for a few years now and she always has a great sale. I’m a lover of all things black and white, this clutch is the perfect accessory for bringing in the New Year.

3. House of Fraser РMary Portas Grey Silk Sweater: WAS £69, NOW £20.50.

I adore everything about this beautiful Mary Portas jumper. With this style it can act as a cute daytime piece worn with skinny jeans or you can dress it up with a pencil skirt for a fabulous dinner and cocktails attire.

4. Faith at Debenhams РMetallic Brogues: WAS £45, NOW £13.50.

Alarms bell ring whenever I see the good old 70% off sign. My heartbeat races as I check to see if my size is available, call me dramatic but it is the truth. Faith shoes still have their concession in Debenhams and often put on a good sale. These metallic brogues are perfect for those of you who want to start making more of a statement in 2015.

5. Space NK РLaura Mercier, Into The Wild Collection: WAS £78, NOW £39.

The mother of all things beauty, Laura Mercier is a strong favourite with beauty bloggers and this fabulous three palette collection is a must have for those of you who are into their make up. The set consists of eye shadows, blushers and bronzing shades. An unbelievable bargain and worth the hype.

6. Space NK РLaura Mercier, Travel Brush Set: WAS £78, NOW £39.

Continuing with both Space NK and Laura Mercier, I could not resist sharing this pretty travel brush set. It is the perfect purchase for those of you who are building up their brush collection. It can be costly buying brushes individually, so I would recommend a set for those of you who are just starting off.

7. Boots РMichael Kors Sexy Amber 50ml Gift Set: WAS £54.50, NOW £36.33.

I am a huge fan of all things MK, I have his handbags, clutches, purses, jewellery, make up and this perfume. The fragrance consists of Amber, Sandalwood and Jasmine. It smells Devine and I would highly recommend it to those of you who like a warm scent.

8. Yankee Candle РApple Chai Jar: WAS £18.99, NOW £13.30.

During the sales, I’m not all about the style and beauty departments. I will venture into the candle concession and smell up a storm. A girl who loves a good candle will always appreciate the Yankee Candle sale. This year I will suggested a jar that breaks away from their traditional scent. I always buy a new scent after Christmas as I live burning it in the New Year. Call me weird, but it’s one of my things and I love it. Something light and sweet such as this Apple Chai is always a great scent to have around your home.

9. River Island Р5 Inch & Up Snakeskin Boots: WAS £120, NOW £60.

My final selection from the sales will not be for everyone. Many people find it hard to like the snakeskin style, myself included, but when I set eyes on these ankle boots from River Island, it was love. Finnish fashion blogger, Sandra Hagelstam, collaborated with River Island to design a collection of shoes and boots that are utterly fabulous. If you are not afraid of a high heel or statement shoe, them I would suggest going online or to your nearest store and purchasing yourself a pair immediately.

Hope you all had a lovely Christmas. Enjoy shopping up an absolute storm in the sales, just try not to elbow anyone!
