The Summer Edit

This is the first time I’ve featured a Summer Edition post and I’m excited to share my essential pieces that span across style and beauty for this season. You may have already spotted some of the pieces in previous posts, they’re my key styles and products that I’m loving at the minute. Without babbling on too much, I’ll just get right down to business.

Jigsaw kimono:

This is definitely my favourite purchase within the last few months. I featured my love for this fabulous kimono a few week’s ago, you can read it here. It is such a effortless piece to style and the luxurious silk fabric helps it hang beautifully. What I like most about it is the rich colours, they are a nice change from the typical vibrant summer shades and it is a little more understated.

Tarte palette:

Ahhhh. The pièce de résistance, my beloved Tarte palette! This all matte beauty is most definitely a firm favourite for creating some soft and subtle summer looks. The ‘less is more’ rule certainly applies during the brighter months, the full face does not work well with the heat. I only purchased this palette a few week’s and it’s already my ‘go to’ product.

Dune handbag:

Every so often, I’ll *tell myself* that I deserve something special for being me. I’ll go on a more expensive shopping spree and indulge in some shameless “I deserve a treat” activities. I have a pretty strong handbag collection but every so often I find myself wanting a new colour, size, or shape, hence the reverse physiology. This Dune bag is definitely a multi purpose piece, I’ve used it as an airport bag, shopping bag and even on nights out.

Victoria Beckham nails:

I tend to go through phases when it comes to mainting my nails. I’ll spend a few months of the year getting them manicured by a beauty professional, I’ll then give them a ‘rest’ but out of pure laziness, I’ll never maintain the gel style. This is when I’ll start painting my own and investing in some colour and brands. My gorgeous Victoria Beckham set is all kinds of amazing and I find myself reaching for it throughout the bright months. The colours are lovely and I’m really loving the Bamboo White shade.

Office sandals:

My addiction for all things rose gold continues in the form of my absolute favourite Office sandals. I’m not much of a heel girl unless I’m going out for the night or have an event to attend. During the day, you’ll always find me running around in flats and these gladiator beauties are a winner. Not only are they incredibly comfortable but they help dress up my look and break away from my usual tan style. I’ve even worn these on nights out when I’ve just been too lazy to make an effort.

It was hard narrowing the post down just five pieces. I’ll end up going on a shopping spree this weekend and adding more pieces and products to my list! Happy Friday, lovelies.

Sweet Senso

During the week I shared a shot of my new Senso Riley Leopard Pony heeled sandals from my Week On Instagram post. I received so many lovely comments regarding them from all of you, so I thought I would feature them today. I haven’t worn them yet so be sure to stay tuned to my blog for a full outfit post including these beauties.

I first came across the Australian brand when I was watching Fashion Bloggers. I spotted the magnificent Margaret Zhang wearing them in black so I quickly took to my iPad to research Senso. I spent some time browsing the collection and came across my fabulous Pony Skin heels. I immediately added these beauties to my basket and received a lovely email confirming my purchase.

Can we just take a moment to appreciate the art of these sandals. The fabric, print and style is to die for and I’m so excited to find the perfect occasion to wear them. They’re just so, so, so beautiful! The heel is perfection, the older I’m getting the more sensible I find my heel height. I enjoy nothing more than coming home after any day or night with my feet still in one piece and not looking battered or bruised.

A good wrap up lace is always a flattering look. It helps to break up the look and adds a little variety, it also makes my ankles look thinner. Bonus! I absolutely adore this style for Summer, combining the lace detailing with the magnificent leopard print I could give Carrie Bradshaw a run for her money.

I’m going to snap some outfit shots over the next week so expect to these my new favourite heels in a feature or two. Happy Friday, lovelies.

Inspirational Blogger || The Blonde Salad

Every time I see one of Chiara Ferragni’s style posts of cool Instagram shots, I wish she was my best friend. Not only is Ms. Ferragni super stylish, but she seems so fun and has a great outlook on life. I came across her blog, The Blonde Salad about six months ago and I’m hooked. Not only does she run a successful blog, but she also has her own unique shoe collection (her pieces are insane), and she rubs shoulders with the best at Dior fashion shows and the Golden Globes.

Launching her blog in 2009, Chiara inherited her passion for fashion and photography from her mother. She started up her blog like the rest of us, as a way to express herself visually. Aside from the unbelievable success of her shoe line, Business of Fashion named Chiara as one of the most influential personalities of the international fashion world.

At 27 years old, Chiara doesn’t take herself too serious. I love this quality in a person and it shows through some of her posts and personal shots. A lover of Mickey Mouse, she incorporates her youthful ways into her blog making her all the more relatable. She is all about enjoying life to the max and making the most of it.

Every girl loves a good handbag, a lovely Kate Spade or Accessorize bag makes me extremely happy. Chiara however, is all about the Chanel and Valentino. Along with these fabulous bags, she always have an embellished clutch with her name across it. Wouldn’t it be amazing to have a HUGE collection of these beautiful designers just locked away in your walk in wardrobe. Ahhhh to live the high live, eh?

image

image

Now on to the shoes! I’m a sucker for all things novelty. I have a strong collection of various brands at home and I have fallen head over heads for Chiara’s quirky collection. Mixing food and fashion is the way forward, add a touch of beauty to it and I’m on board. It is my mission to treat myself to a pair, hard part is picking my favourite design. Am I a popcorn lover or flirty lash kind of girl? 😉

image

Again, Chiara has made sure that her fun for fashion attitude is represented throughout her collection between the bold colour, fabulous prints and sparkling fabric, or shall I say sequins?!

image

image

Only in my wildest dreams could I imagine attending a Golden Globe after party. However for Chiara, all of her dreams seem to be coming true. If any of you have ever watched the fashion reality programme, Fashion Bloggers, then you will recognise Zanita alongside Nicole Warner from Gary Pepper Girl.

And finally, I’m sure that all of you stylish ladies have been lusting over the images from the Dior Haute Couture SS15 Show?!?! Well not Chiara. No, instead this lucky rascal got to take a seat at the fabulous show and enjoy it in real life. That is a mere dream of mine and it is crazy that this is a daily part of her life. I mean, getting to visit Paris alone and take the standard selfie in front of the Eiffel Tower is still on my bucket list. One day, Niamh. One day! 😉

If you are serious about fashion and/or blogging, then I would seriously suggest checking out Chiara. Have a great day!

5 Inches. . .

Shoes. My guilty pleasure. I have an insanely large collection and I’m proud to add another incredible pair to the family. I had been eyeing up these beauties for while and thankfully they were reduced in the Boxing Day sales. Finnish fashion blogger, Sandra Hagelstam collaborated with River Island in 2014 to outstanding success. I have featured the breathtaking Sandra and her blog, 5 Inch And Up before as part of my ‘Inspirational Blogger’ series. I found it tricky trying to pick just one pair as her collection is devine. Each style is so chic and sophisticated and I’m madly in love.

image

I chose the grey snakeskin ankle boots with a sock – look print panel. I wanted to purchase a pair that are unique and a style that I do not already have. I waited each day for them to arrive, to say I was excited was an understatement!

image

The chic snakeskin print makes them pop beautifully and I’m excited to give them their first outing. Having followed Sandra and her blog for a few years, I love how she has stayed true to her own personal style and it shows through her collection.

image

I’m not usually one for wearing stiletto heels, my feet are not the easiest when it comes to breaking shoes in. However, I wanted to try a new look and I thought that these beauties would be perfect. When I first tried them on, I was pleasantly surprised at how comfortable they were. Now don’t get me wrong, I will have to wear them around the house for a few days first. I think I’ll wear them as a dinner and cocktail shoe. As much as I would love to, there is no way I could dance the night away in them.

image

I haven’t had the chance to snap a shot of me wearing them, but I promise I’ll get that sorted in the coming weeks.

Happy Friday, rascals. I hope you all have a lovely weekend.

Inspirational Blogger || 5 Inch and Up

Ever since I started blogging three years ago, one of the first bloggers I came across was the captivating Sandra Hagalstam from 5 Inch and Up. The Finnish beauty is a fashion student living in London and making a stylish name for herself.

I find Sandra’s images on her blog and online social media platform’s incredibly raw. The backdrops used for her images often consist of natural props such as a wooden floors, strong sunsets or magnificent outdoor surroundings. Along with her clean cut style, the photography used throughout her online presence is what gravitated me towards her.

image

image

I too am a fan of photography so I find it attractive when a blogger takes time to put a little effort and detailing into their images. Including a little personal presence into your photos can prove powerful as it allows your readers to feel more connected to you. Instead of always snapping a picture of a bag hanging, Sandra finds new ways to add a little variety to her photographs.

image

image

For those of you who are serious about style, then I’m sure that you are all aware of Sandra’s recent collaboration with high street powerhouse, River Island. The Finnish beauty has created a collection of limited edition shoes consisting of fabulous knee high boots, daring snake print ankle boots, a classic court and pony skin mules.

image

image

If you have all been following my ‘Inspirational Blogger’ series, then you will all be aware that travelling the world is a large part of being a full time fashion blogger. It is a dream come true for the bloggers and each of them capture incredible photographs to share a part of their lives with the people who contribute to their success, their readers.

image

image

image

image

Like I have previously said, the attention to detail in Sandra’s photographs are what attracted me to her. They are so powerful and touching, her images alone inspire me to branch out with my own. A strong yet simple backdrop is often what is needed and a little imagination. Try not to just set and shoot, find a new and interesting way to capture something.

I hope that you’re all enjoying this series as much as I am. Are there any particular bloggers that any of you lovelies would like me to feature?
