Eléni

As a person who has extremely sensitive skin, I’m always on the hunt yet hesitant when it comes to trying new brands. I’m eager to find a product that agrees with my frustrating skin type but the thought of putting it through a trial period makes me a little nervous. When I was approached about skincare brand, Eléni I did a little research into the brand.

Peter Meyer is the founder of the skincare brand. Having suffered from Psoriasis, he knows a thing or two about the body’s largest organ. Twenty five years ago be set up his own laboratory with a team of scientists to find a cure for his condition. Fast forwards a quarter of a century and Eléni claims to have answers to anti ageing, hydrating and nourishing, cleansing and problem skin. As a girl who has hormonal skin, I was eager to try out this scientific based brand.

Now, I’ve yet to try out all samples as I like to allow my skin the standard 28 days to settle with the products. So far I’ve used the Reconstruction Serum and Blemishless Cream. I do love a good serum, I find my skin responses well with them. I have a good variety of brands already so I was looking forward to testing out this one. The serum is designed to reduce wrinkle depth and therefore resulting in a smoother, firmer, more youthful appearance. I personally found that my skin was smoother and it felt nice and hydrated.

God knows I have my fair share of breakouts especially when my hormone level shifts. If I find a blemish, I have been dabbing a pea size amount of the Blemishless Cream on before bedtime. Come morning, it has reduced a little but not to the point of it completely disappearing. Although I don’t really think a product can get rid of a blemish within hours. Maybe there are some that can but I’ve yet to come across them.

I’ll be sure to keep all of you updated regarding the rest of the samples; Mild Stabilising Moisturiser, Eye Contour Smoothing Cream and Facial Deep Cleanser. Follow me on Instagram to stay up to date with all of my blog and daily features.

A little LiftActiv Supreme Anyone?

I was first introduced into the Vichy skincare brand two years ago at an event held in the Merchant Hotel. I was just home from holiday so my skin was in need of some TLC after being exposed to the sun for two weeks. At the time, it was the launch of their Idéalia Life Serum and it was the first product I used to pop my Vichy cherry!

Their latest launch was held at the pretty Radisson Blu Hotel in the idyllic Gas Works setting. Surrounded by water, it was the perfect setting for the reveal of their new and improved, LiftActiv Supreme. Every Vichy event that I have been to always involves fun and food! The perfect combination if you ask me, add in some beauty products and I’m in heaven. We all sipped on sweet, tropical drinks while all while overloading on some delicious cupcakes and pick ‘n’ mix treats. I told you I was in heaven!

I always get sidetracked talking food, so back to the beauty. What I like most about Vichy is the scientific research behind each and every product. An in depth presentation is always on hand and we are all provided with every reason and ingredient used. In regards to their new LiftActiv Supreme, it is designed to target the signs of aging as they appear thanks to their new advanced ingredients.

Up for discussion was a few other products that are sure to chater to your every skincare need. I always have problems with my eye area, in particular dark circles. I have tried a wide variety of brands and have yet to find one that I’m happy with. In our goodie bags was their eye contour from the Idéalia range which I’m looking forward to reviewing.

It is always a positive note when a skincare brand caters to all skin types both young and mature. Included within the gift bag was also this sweet shimmering serum, Neovadiol Magistral Elixir aimed at women who are fifty and fabulous, experiencing or post menopause, with sensitive and dry skin due to the hormonal slowdown .

Thank you to Zara and Nicola for a lovely event. I’m excited to test out the products and hopefully kick start my dark circle marathon.

Indeed

Truth be told, I’m always nervous and a little hesitant when it comes to trying new skincare products. It has taken me quite a while to get my skin to settle down so the thought of putting it through any new masks, moisturisers or serums makes me shiver. Just over two weeks ago, I was sent a new moisturiser called, Fillume by Indeed Labs. I had heard a lot about this brand from various beauty bloggers and vloggers so I was curious to give it ago.

image

Fillume is designed to help target the appearance of subtle facial volume loss. Sesamin (from seeds of sesame), hyaluronic acid, and a molecular network of natural biopolymers help skin appear fuller, firmer and smoother.

image

If I hear of other people raving about a certain brand or product then it often puts my mind at ease and I’m more than likely going to try it. When I first pumped the moisturiser, I was happy to see that it was creamy in consistency. Some people prefer a light weight texture, but I definitely prefer a thick one to fully hydrate my skin. It only takes one pea sized amount to cover my face and neck which is always a bonus. I have found that a little goes a long way therefore I will not need to re-purchase it too often.

image

I never review products for the sake of it and I always give an truthful opinion. I can honestly say that I really do like it. My skin has been lovely and smooth. I was terrible bad for having bumpy skin and over the past few weeks, I have noticed a reduction. Yayyyy!

Have any of you used other Indeed Labs products before? I’d love to hear some recommendations!

High Street Beauty Haul

I wasn’t able to blog on Friday so I thought that I would kick start the week with a long overdue beauty haul post. My skincare routine has been quite disruptive recently so I needed to purchase my trusty favourites, La Roche Posay and Liz Earle. I also invested in two beauty buys that I have been hearing about from various bloggers. I’m already a huge fan of Hourglass Cosmetics and Real Techniques bold metals collection. Add a some sweet scents to my shopping spree and you’re onto a pretty haul.

Liz Earle Cleanse & Polish:

I have been an avid user of Liz Earle’s skincare masterpiece for a long time now. I use it morning and night to take off my make up and clean my face. You get two muslin cloths with this purchase which is always handy. They’re great for giving your face a thorough clean and taking every inch of dirt and make up off your skin. This tin set was part of their Christmas collection. For 150ml and two cloths, you buy £19. A good bargain of you ask me as the normal stand alone 100ml bottle is £14.

La Roche Posy Effaclar Duo [+]:

Now onto the absolute saviour of the skincare world! A few years ago, my skin took a turn and was constantly suffering from break outs. I have naturally sensitive skin but it was becoming a very annoying problem. Someone had suggested that I start using this and I have never looked back. It is beautifully moisturising on my skin and keeps any blemishes to a minimum.

M&S Perfumes:

Butterfly:

I believe that a girl can never have too many perfumes. However with that said, it can become a costly addiction. Therefore, I found two dupes at Marks & Spencer that cost over half of the brand prices. Butterfly is a replica of DKNY’s Be Delicious (the green bottle). I came across this scent at the opening of their new beauty department at the Sprucefield store. I was instantly hooked and I save a lot when I’m in between the month. It’s great for wearing during the day as I like to keep my ‘good perfumes’ for special occasions.

Isis:

Back in the day when I was a teenager I wasn’t allowed to buy perfume so I use to use my friends one. It was an Avon scent called Pure Blanca. Does anyone remember it or am I too old school?! Anyway, Isis is the double of it and acts as another great bargain busting perfume.

Hourglass Femme Nude:

Over the past two years, I have seriously become addicted to make up. I have so much that I have run out of storage yet I can’t help but purchase more. I find it worse when I make my regular trips to Boston and NYC. Every few months when I make the good old long haul flight, I reward myself with a trip to Sephora. You all know yourself how amazing that store is! Anyway, back to this post. For some reason, I never purchased the Hourglass Femme Nude shades. A solid natural lipstick is an essential part of my daily make up collection, so I am extremely excited to add this to the rest of my lippies.

Real Techniques Bold Metal Collection:

Saving the best until last, it’s the piece du resistant. There has been so much hype surrounding the Real Technique and their Bold Metal brush collection. You all know that I’m obsessed with rose gold, add a beautiful contour style brush to it and I’m in heaven. I haven’t got round to using it yet, but I’m really looking forward to creating a strong contouring look for a night on the town. I’ll report back soon with my thoughts on it.

Did all of you have a great weekend? How cold was it by the way?!?! I tried to snap some outfit posts, but the wind and coldness got in the way.

Seasonal Skincare

If there is one gift that I love giving/receiving during the Christmas period it is skincare products. My own beauty regime has changed through time and for me, it is important to add a corrector into the mix. I suffered from dark spots on my face and I started using La Roche Posay and their Effactlar Duo cream. It honestly made a huge difference to my skin and I’m always interested in finding new products.

image

I was sent a skin corrector called Nanoblur by IndeedLabs (thank you, Hollie!) and over the weekend I started to include it into my daily routine. With Winter playing avoc with my skin, I’m always open to trying new skincare products.

image

I played around with the cream when applying it, testing out the smell, examining the texture and summing up how I feel about the cream. At first, the cream seems quite thick but once blended it feels quite lightweight. As I have oily skin, I was very excited when it set as a matte finish, always a bonus. Did I mention that it is non – greasey? I think every woman screams for joy when they invest in a product that sets onto the skin beautifully.

image

I don’t ever review products to sell them. If I’m blogging about something then it is because I genuinely like the results. So when I say that I absolutely adore this product, it’s because I’m telling the truth. It’s hard to explain, but when the cream set on my skin, it left a matte finish but it also smoothed out any imperfections I had on my skin. I have Malia under my eyes and it helped to minimise them in a concealing effect. They had not completely disappeared, but they were less noticeable. I have to admit that this was something I was happy with as I can feel a little self conscious with it. As these results appear to be instant, I will really get a true feeling with it after the 28 day settling in period.

With all of my thoughts on Nanoblur, it is a great little gift for yourself or stocking filler for a family member or friend. I find skincare can be tricky to buy for a person as you do not always get it right when it comes to skin types, but buying one that targets a general area such as fine lines (which we ALL have) tends to make a great gift.

Signing today’s post off with a stylish Monday cliché! Hope you all had a great weekend.
