Recap: What I’ve learned about travelling

It’s 3.08am and I’m wide awake, filled with all kinds of emotions thanks to my good friend, jet lag. My body and mind never seem to respond well to it – sometimes it’s just a case of sleeping for 25 hours straight and other times it’s a little more complicated. This bout seems a little tougher to shift and rightly so as I’ve just returned from a trip of a lifetime – one that has changed me for the better. I honestly had no idea that I would have experienced an adventure quite like this one or have met such genuine and life long friends that I’ll forever cherish. To be honest I’ve found it quite tough settling back in as I miss my hectic/carefree travel routine, roadtrips to the most random places in America, acting like an absolute idiot with the most amazing people I know and just never knowing what is around the corner at our next pit stop. Leaving reality behind and roadtripping across the States was by far the best decision I’ve ever made. From drinking Moonshine whiskey in Knoxville at 10am to eating Pizza on the South Rim of the Grand Canyon – it was a bucket list adventure without a doubt.

Sunset Beach

When I was a teenager I use to watch a TV show called, Sunset Beach. It was such a cringe worthy soap and I loved every minute of it. I think it was based in California in a Laguna Beach type location. It would make your skin crawl as the acting and storylines were so bad but that’s what made it so good, very Days Of Our Lives style.

I spent Halloween up in the North Coast of Ireland in a town called, Portstewart. It’s the most idyllic seaside village with the most beautiful scenery and sunsets (hence the TV show reminiscing). Myself and my man friend made a quick stop at the beach as I couldn’t resist a quick OOTD shoot against the magnificent backdrop. The beach was pretty empty at this time of evening apart from the odd dog walker and a few surfers. The waves were amazing and the sky was turning a pretty pink and reflecting beautifully off the silky sand.

For our day out/road trip, I opted for my favourite khaki bomber jacket from Topshop and paired it with my grey embellished tee (you can see it fully here) from Warehouse and my biker jeans from Zara. I’ve been loving my Adidas Superstars so much this season and I’ve been wearing them pretty much everyday as they’re incredibly comfortable! My trusty Parfois cross body bag and Oakley sunnies made for the perfect accessories.

I hope you all had a great weekend and didn’t have to endure too much of a Halloween hangover. I guess now that it’s November the Christmas countdown has officially begun! This year is going by soooo fast!

My Week On Instagram ❤

Yes, this post is called my WEEK on Instagram but I’m throwing it back to a little further than the past seven days. I took a few days off from blogging as I was finishing up with work for the Summer. With that comes endless hours (that I enjoy) blogging, networking and attending events. I don’t know about any of you but there are definitely certain times throughout the year when life just takes over and I need some TLC time to just relax.

Most Instagram accounts have a theme throughout, I definitely think one of mine is the classic flatlay. I never really thought about it properly until tonight when I started go upload all of these flatlays. Is anyone else the same? Do you have a particular theme you stick with?

How delicious does my frozen yogurt look?! Well, I can tell you that it certainly tickled my taste buds! I was at the launch of Yogland on the Lisburn Road last Friday and I had the opportunity to sample some of the mouthwatering treats. I would definitely suggest visiting it during the summer months if you fancy a quick snack with your man friend, family or friends.
